Woot, the best band of the 90s are back. New singer is Comes With The Fall singer William DuVall. Hearing their stuff, he's probably the best option for them. I hope they stay together for a few years and I get to be able to see them.

I agree with Lesstar. How can they ever replace Layne? They can't.

They were by far the best grunge band but without Layne it won't be the same.

Recently had a friend get me into AiC.
I absolutely love Laynes voice, i don't know how anyone could do their songs justice in his place.

Good god...they should have just let it go...

I'd rather the remaining members actually taking the band back on the road with a new singer than simply rotting away in less than impressive solo careers / solo projects.........talent possessed by these remaining band members, namely Cantrell is a waste all alone without his bandmates...the fans need to be reminded of what true talent is all about

I agree, they should change their name though.

Nobody can replace Layne Staley!

Agreed. To this day i believe the Roosters management is geniused FOR NOT playing Rooster, by AIC instead of that faggy Village People cover. Imagine the awesome sound at Roosters homes games ... oh well, alas :(

That song was actually written by Layne about his dad in the Vietnam War ... awesome imagery but my club is just too stupid :(

Hey OVP I'm pretty sure that Rooster was written by Jerry about his father! A f**king' excellent song. Staley's vocals in it are fantastic.

Agreed about that Village People style 'Rooster man' song, it really sucks!

Funnily enough i always thought Layne did that song ... But hey i bet you're correct. Whatever ... doesnt hide the fact Roosters management could have perhaps the best KICKARSE song on their hands to play every home game ... but they'd rather choose a song from an outdated gay band, if even band is the right word. Dear Lord ... the shame is overwhelming ;-)

It is indeed about Jerry Cantrell's father whose nickname among his battallion was Rooster.

Great track. I'm not a Roosters fan but if they played AIC I might become one!!

That would be awesome if the roosters played that song at the start of all their home games, like Liverpool FC plays "you will never walk alone" at the start of thier games, it really creates atmosphere.

Henry Rollins said it best when I saw him do a spoken word show in 2003. He was talking about the first time he went to see the Ramones as a kid in DC and the prologue to the story was talking about the great musicians we had recently lost eg Joe Strummer, Joey Ramone and singled out Layne Staley. He remarked that now when he hear Staley do thats "awwwwwwwww" in his songs its now like a voice from the grave cos his voice was so individual and distintincive then went on to say "on the other hand....when that bitch from Nickleback does it..." The crowd pissed themselves laughing.

I seen rollins at coogee bay, he was boring, in fact he is more recognised for his spoken word outings than his live shows, why is that?

I seen nickleback at the ent cent in 04, was a pretty decent show and they were pretty front on in claiming themselves to be a "Metal" band.

Seems like the divide between alternate and Metal will never let up!

I like it...I like it a lot, if they come to my neck of the woods I'm definatley checking them out.

Fantastic ...cheers mate :)

I LOVE the Dirt album ... AIC to a tee. I wonder if they did Angry Chair as well in that gig ... probably my fave song apart from Rooster, Godsmack and Over Now.
