How good is this. Ali in a black jumper scoring back to back tries and Stacey kicking
goals :D

10/5 to the good guys, with about ten to go in the first half.

15/5 at half time. Try to Eastwood on the hooter. Stace 3 kicks from 3.

This is a top game of footy.

Maybe replace Kidwell with Ali when he flies back home this week. Hasnt been a good year for him.

Maybe a team for the first test looking like :

1. Perret
2. SKD
3. Hape
4. Stanley
5. Tuiaki
6. Roberts
7. Thomas L?
8. Asotasi
9. Halatau
10. Moimoi
11. Ali
12. Pritchard
13. Smith

14. Faiumu
15. Lauaki
16. Lima
17. Eastwood?

Danny McGuire gets his second for NU. A blistering 70 mtr effort.

Kick successful - 15/10

NOTE : Old scoring system applies. 3 points for a try.

Fairly dodgy looking effort awarded to Angry Anderson. Stace gets the goal.

20/18 to the AGs

Toopi scores after a NU drop-out goes astray. Stacey Jones...100% with the boot.

25/18 to the All Goals as the hooter goes.

You beauty, what a marvellous game of football that was. Some fellows must have
played their way into Kiwi contention.

Fitting tribute to stacey at the end.

What I saw after the game is the kiwi team I know and love. Spirit, pride and unity.

Now we need to find the next leader of the kiwis to replace Rubes - and as soon as Rubes retires he needs to be bought into that kiwis set up. People want to play for Ruben, and you could tell some of those younger boys out there today were in awe of him.

Who would you say did Skinner?

Well, for a start I thought Tommy had real good game.....something about that
black jumper perhaps ???

Ali was the real surprise for me....quiet second half but blistering in the first. My view
may be clouded by emotion on that one though.

There is absolutely no doubt who would be the kiwi number 7 if he hadn't retired.

Kidwell has to be replaced so it will be interesting...................

What a great way to kick off the tour for the 'Kiwis' to kick off their tour of Great Britain.

It wasn't what I'd call a high intensity match which was probably to be expected being a tribute game, but there was a lot of pride and flair which was great to see - especially the 2nd try that Lauitiiti scored, that was an awesome passage of play, vintage Kiwis.
The only disappointing thing about the match was the fairly average crowd - pity the bloody poms got into the WC final.

I think a few players put their hands up for Kiwi selection next week too. Namely, Lueluai, Lauitiiti, Eastwood and even Toopi.

It was a fitting final match for Jones too. He played a good game (although his defense is still a bit suspect).
The Kiwi squad paid tribute to him at the end of the match by performing the haka - Stace had tears in his eyes.

Cheers to you, Little General - one of a kind!
