I heard a little something, Malcolm Noad is considering all seating at Dogs games to be reserved, with I.D. to be shown when purchasing tickets.....to combat the growing crowd problems at Dogs games.

Drums and oversized flags will be baneed also.

Dunno how feasible that is, seems impossible to me to be honest, how away fans would fare is another question,.... expect more soon.

This would be designed to make the army area more managable I'd say.

I can kind of understand the oversized flags, but I actually like the drums. They lift the atmosphere, as long as they're isolated to the army section.

Yeah.....I thought it'd probably be just restricted to that area, the problem is, the majority of the fans there wouldnt have a problem with it, except for the nuisance of it, but they'd have nothing to fear....and how would it restrict those trouble makers that just use the Dogs jersey as camouflage?
Guess we'll learn more tomorrow.

NEW INITIATIVES ON CROWD BEHAVIOUR AT BULLDOGS MATCHES
Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad today announced new initiatives on crowd behaviour at Bulldogs’ home matches for the remainder of 2005.

Noad said, “After spending the last 18 months working with our fans to ensure that everyone who comes to a Bulldogs game has a safe and enjoyable experience, the actions of a few have undone some of the progress we had made.

“Friday night’s firecracker incident was totally unacceptable. We won’t allow the reputation of the Bulldogs to be at the mercy of hooligans. The club will now clamp down on these elements, effective immediately, with the help of the NSW Police and Telstra Stadium.

“We know the true fans will support these changes and continue to back the club to the hilt.”

The initiatives that the Bulldogs Club has implemented recently include a Fan Code of Conduct, a Bulldogs Policy against Misbehaviour and replacing the Bulldogs Army with a Registration Rewards program. These initiatives have met with great success with almost 8,000 Bulldogs fans registering their support for the Fan Code of Conduct and over 900 applying for access to the Registration Rewards area.

Unfortunately, a handful of troublemakers have made a concerted effort to undermine the enjoyment of others and have led the Bulldogs Club into making further changes.

Effective immediately:

1. General admission (GA) tickets will no longer be available for purchase to Bulldog’s home games.

2. Reserved seating (only) will be available at Bulldog’s home games and can be purchased pre-event from Ticketek agencies, call centres or at the venue on event day.

3. Proof of identification will be required to purchase tickets at all future Bulldogs home games. This applies to pre-event ticket sales and walk-up sales at the venue.

4. The maximum number of tickets that can be purchased by an individual patron will be four (4) per person.

5. The Bulldog’s Registration Rewards area will be disbanded for all remaining home games and Bulldog’s supporters who have previously been seated in this area will be required to purchase a reserved seat within the reserved seating areas.

6. Anyone ejected from Bulldogs home games for breaching the Code of Conduct will face bans from games and potential police prosecution.

7. Drums and other musical instruments will not be permitted into the venue.

8. Flag poles greater in length than one metre will not be permitted into the venue.

9. Visiting Club supporters will continue to be provided with a dedicated seating area but all seats within that area will be reserved.

Anyone failing to abide by these new initiatives will be removed from the venue, may be banned from all NRL games and may face potential police prosecution.

Ticketing changes will not affect Bulldogs Season Ticket Holders who already have reserved seats.

“I hope Bulldogs fans realise the position the club has been placed in and will support the decision. Our motive, first and foremost, is that fans who come along to our games will not have to put up with a small band of hooligans whose goal is to disrupt others.”

Seriously though, what is it with Doggies fans??? This sort of sh*t doesn't happen in any other club in any other code in Australia FFS! So whats the go? Is it all the *edit* that think they're at a soccer match or what?

This is sh*thouse. I understand the logic but now if I choose to go to a Bulldogs home game I have to be restricted. What about poor barstards who purchase tickets in the middle of supporter groups without knowing it?

This will have alot of teething problems

How is reserved seating a problem? How is it even a solution?

Parra Stadium has used reserved seating for years and it is no hassle.

But having a minimum of 4 tickets purchased per person creates an issue. Then you won't have large groups being able to sit with each other.

Rubbish. It's a massive hassle & has caused drama every time I've been there since the Hills were covered...

You've answered your own question.

The club is trying to prevent large groups of people from amassing, because that's the environment that the lunatic fringe thrives in. It will still be possible for ordinary groups of larger than 4 to get seats together. They'll just have to get another person or two to go along and buy tickets at the same time to ensure that they're seated together. It will prevent a few hundred people from sitting together though.

The problem is its only going to make away games that much bigger for the hooligan element that exists. They are doing their bit at Telstra, which to an extent is applaudable but doesn't this just create problems for other grounds? The Bulldogs supporters group will be likely to all get together at away games and then that is where the fun starts - the instigators become hidden again. Its a great initiative but it still doesn't address the entire problem.

What a load of garbage. Reserved seating rewards those that buy their tickets early. Lets people chose where they want to sit. You know where you are sitting when you buy your tickets so you know what your paying for.

The only drama reserved seating causes is when dickheads don't sit in the seats they are supposed to and then want to have a whinge when you tell them to get out of your seats.

Parramatta Stadium is systematically trying to squeeze out groups like the Dragon Army and The Burrow & casual football supporters by minimising the cheapest category seating & making it difficult for fans to congregate together.

It's affected the atmosphere, and has resulted in the need for canned crowd noises.

Parramatta Stadium is the most supporter un-friendly ground in the NRL.

Both the North and South Hills are now GA again. What more do you want? They've tried to make it as user friendly for everyone and make the ground a little more security conscious. By the way its the Parramatta Stadium Trust that control the ground and not the Club itself.

It is a sad day when the idiot fringe now dictates that groups of true fans cannot gather together en mass to create an atmosphere at a game.
It is part of the greatness of our game. I think of the Dogs Army I think of the sound of drums

Clubs wont pay for security also ---

But it is pathetic when you cant take a flag or a banner to the game if you wish -
Lotsa ppl do and pay just like everybody else - ppl go to support a team and take banners and flags to do that ---

wankers and their rules - wont be going to runterbury or yappyamatta again lol

Does this mean it will be more expensive to get in now? Because when I go, I generally buy a general admission ticket which costs me $13. But it says in my book here that a reserved ticket costs $20. So basically I have to fork out $7 extra because of this decision? Can someone clarify this?
