Where did you see he was PNG born?

Article I just read says NZ born, and NRL.com profile says the same. Only other thing I can find says he is of Fijian descent.
From chatter on the West tigers fans forum but on closer inspection I think you are right.

I know this thread is about the Kumuls but just like to add that the PNG Orchids girls have also done well for themselves after last years World Cup.

At least 6 players so far have been signed up to NRLW clubs.
1. Ua Ravu - Canberra Raiders
2. Sera Koroi - NQ Cowboys
3. Shellie Long - NQ Cowboys
4. Jessikah Reeves - NQ Cowboys
5. Essy Banu - NQ Cowboys
6. Elise Albert - Paramatta Eels

And there's another few in the BMD Cup in Queensland.
1. Belinda Gwasamun - Norths Devils
2. Martha Molowia - Norths Devils
3. Bertshiba Awai - Norths Devils
4. Theresa Aiton - Norths Devils

There are others but will post after I confirm where they are.

Ben Ikin QRL CEO paid NCDSRL a visit with his team at Taurama Army Barracks field on Saturday 17th June 2023. He was excited by the turn out of the school kids at the venue and wanted to spend the entire day with the kids but was forced to leave as Time caught up with him.

Seasonal Workers from the PNG Community here in Adelaide South Australia had recently established their new rugby team called Tura Brothers Rugby League NRLSA.
Thanks to our major sponsors JBS and Motu Koita & Wantoks SA for providing their brand new jerseys.
Pictured below are boys showing off their new jerseys at the Murray Bridge Showground oval on Saturday 22/07/2023.

MEDIA RELEASE
COCA-COLA PNG PARTNERS WITH PNGRFL
Big news for rugby league lovers across PNG!
Coca-Cola in Papua New Guinea is thrilled to announce an amazing new partnership with the Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL) as the Exclusive Beverage Partner for the PNG National Rugby League Competition (PNGNRLC). This means more fun, more excitement, and a whole lot more refreshing moments for everyone involved!
Rugby league is Papua New Guinea’s ultimate passion, and Coca-Cola together with local bottler Coca-Cola Europacific Partners are here to make game days even better.
“We're ecstatic to join forces with PNGRFL and bring some extra fizz to every game,” says
Rachel Nainggolan, Sr Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Papua New Guinea. “Rugby league in PNG isn't just a sport—it's a celebration. And we want every celebration to be as memorable
and as refreshing as possible.”
For the next year, and hopefully beyond, Coca-Cola will be the go-to drink at all Digicel ExxonMobil Cup games offering a full line-up of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages, exclusive pouring, selling, and sampling rights, and plenty of fantastic activations planned.
The partnership begins with a one-year agreement, with the potential for future extensions.
