Last night on 100% Footy, Vlandys flagged a wish to return to a 3 grades game day. He said he was a huge fan of an Under 23's, Reserve Grade, First Grade experience. He argued that he cant see why it couldnt be done and he would love a return to that format.
Wow! Wouldnt that be fantastic.
A major focus for him is junior development and he sees this as a way of ensuring more players stay in the game.
Gotta love this guy.
Todd who?

The problem will be convincing TV schedulers. I might appreciate the odd chance to spend a day at BankWest watching football but on the rare and unfortunate Alex McKinnon or Nathan Cayless incident occurring in a lower grade untelevised game that causes that game to overlap into the TV game then the TV people won’t appreciate that. Not callously but they would want to mitigate that possibility. Fox may be better abled to allow for it, but on Super Saturday they could still have games running into other games TV time. Nine Sunday game would almost 100% not want it. 4 groups of games per round at most. And that’s not even factoring in non-Sydney games

See its about game day experience. Back in the day, you'd had no hesitation of getting the ground early, see a bit of the Reserve Grade and then they'll be a gap of 10-15 minutes between matches.

These days or least 2019, the match before first grade would finish and the main game wont start for another 40 minutes, people arent too interested in hanging around seeing the players and referees warm up, so most of them would get to the ground close to kick off.

I would certainly love to have all 3 grades

There will be f**k all people watching the early games.
You know as a kid watching all 3 grades I never noticed how many were there. I just remember how good it was watching all the young players come through. I loved it. It was a great day of entertainment. Does it matter if few are there? The rusted on fans will most likely be.
Maybe we should stop designated seats (post Covid) and make ppl arrive early to get the best seats. OMG I think I'm turning into Poo.

OK. I thought you were suggesting that this would be a consequence the V-train's vague proposal.
The V-Train is super vague. Watched the interview tonight and he is just saying what he thinks fans want to hear. Lots of confusing messages around pathways, origin and the international game.

I played for Parramatta Northern Districts ... we thought Canley Heights Dragons were a pack of mincers ... and we also got smashed by wenty
We were a pack of mincers. Its why I had to leave them and play for Munmorah.

He wasn't vague when he said 'I know it's a bad look, but the Roosters can have twice as many players in each grade as the other teams'

There could be a game of nines on before.
Each club should have a nines team.
People don't care about lower grades anymore for a multitude of reasons including 1.there is no reason to think the good juniors will stay at your club and 2. people already feel like they are spending enough time watching sport through the week.
I am myself am too busy and important to watch reserve grade.
