I completely agree with this sentiment! The fans should decide the expansion of the NRL.
We have some influence. Imagine if NRL selected Firehawks after closed campaign? Public sentiment was with dolphins..

They do this so there isn't a public outcry after they go toe to toe thru the media like politians before election, the best bids usually have all there shit together and aren't needing to go around scare mongering for public perception... ala the dolphins, whilst the firehawks and Nick livermore's Bombers were entrenched in "fighting off AFL" and also each other then a last minute merger with each other, all to no avail...Why the f.. did the NRL put a gag order on the expansion bids?! Public should know who wants in on league & what they got to offer!!

The point is they want to choose the bids on what the bid offers not the popularity the public view is better... gag order stops all of that shit

All I got was milhouse is a complete and utter fuķwit blahAll I got from this was "Blah blah blah I have no brain blah blah blah I am a dope blah blah blah"
They don't want public feedback, they just wanna make sure there is no public backlash, from said feedback, like for example, if there was 3 Perth consortiums, reds, bears and jets, all have there own ups and downs, but they find that the bears is the better bid, the public already are backing the home grown reds revival, they chuck a milhouse style tantrum, and boycott the bears or NRL in general, but I doubt it, coz Perth have been starved of the sport, you'd think any of them should take off, bit different with the nz2 or past Brisbane bids where the Warriors and Broncos are already there respectivelyWould Firehawks have done as well as dolphins?! Public received potential Redcliffe bid better than Firehawks. That's great feedback for NRL that they missing if it's behind closed doors.

P.s millhouse is an AFL mincing troll
They want bids to be competitive but they don't want bids to get in a dick measuring competition or mudslinging against each other.
Hence the gag order.
It's not that difficult lads.

We don't have to trust it, we aren't the decision makers, nor are we paying for the rights to choose, this is completely upto the ARLC and its stakeholders to want to expand and trust in the bidders themselves, that one of them will become one of themNever trust a decision making process which isn't transparent.

Well the members own the NRL. The members will vote on expansion and the members are the 17 clubs, plus the NSWRL and QRL.Who owns the game?! Players?! Administration?! fans?! If expansion discourse is public at least fans can have a voice.
Besides, suits thought Firehawks were a good idea. If you want expansion bids & decisions behind closed doors you wanna hope administration have finger on pulse. I think fans (on the whole) know better what will work..
