American Dad!

I am hooked on this series from the creators of "The Family Guy".

basically, the series follows the lives CIA agent Stan Smith and his family who have an alien living in their attic and a goldfish who had his brain switched with a German Olympic skier by the CIA.

Very rude, politically incorrect but extremely funny. I saw a few episodes on tele not so long ago bt my boss just gave me the first 2 episodes on DVD.

Anyone else a fan?

It seems to me that Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad creator) is doing a Guy Richie in the sense that rather then create somthing new after the success of his first work, he just makes the first one all over again with minor adjustments...

I love it!

It is similar to "Family Guy", but I think it could be better - because much like "Futurama" is has much more freedom (a show set in the future - you can make ANY storyline you want and make it work). A story centred around top-secret CIA stuff...Same thing!

Can't really get into American Dad, but I do enjoy watching it.

Family Guy is superior, IMO - can't get enough of that show!

MacFarlane created American Dad when FOX initially cancelled Family Guy. He purposely made it alot like FG so that his writers and production team would feel more comfortable with it. Main differences between the two shows being that AD doesn't make heavy use of cut-aways and pop culture references, and is more plot driven. This is all trivial, however, as they are both fantastic shows, and will have made MacFarlane one very, very rich man
