AMNRL Coach of the Year

I assumed that all of the teams had a coach. The Sharks DEFINITELY had real coaches and should of been in the running for the award for guiding such a young team to a respectable record in their first year back.

Everyone knows why Elliot was chosen and not someone else. And its stupid to think otherwise. Its the same reason that Apple Pope was chosen for the Player of the year.

Theres a GLORIOUS story behind it.

Internationaly no one cares if a SHARKS coach is good or not. But for Matt Elliot to come in and take a team of "YANKS" and get them to the WC2013 now thats a story movies are made of.

Sure they can get so Aussie actors to play the parts of the American ruggers beings that Aussie NRL old boys did in the qualifier.

I wonder who selected the coach of the year. It's stuff like this that makes me wonder why anyone who isn't part of the clique would bother with the AMNRL.

The actual word, which nobody (anywhere in these forums [at least]) has put their finger on is: nepotism. This was one of the cornerstones within the philosophy behind the USARL's original request for transparency.

Is anyone surprised? Alas, and sadly, nay.
