i've got a few ideas i think may compliment yours, OP. we should definitely bring back unlimited interchange so that teams are less likely to get pumped by 50 as they will be able to keep their players fresh. along that same note we should double the bench size to 8 players. we'll have to raise the salary cap significantly due to potentially larger squad sizes (2 or 3 million should do the trick! i'm sure the money is lying around somewhere). we should also look at implementing a rule whereby if a player has his foot over the dead ball line and knocks the ball dead, it's a 20 metre restart to his team. how about instead of corner posts, we make 4 more linesmen stand very still in their place so we can get an even better look at the in goals when a try is scored? this thread is a potential haven for quality ideas for our game! someone should forward this thread to the NRL, post haste.

If this rule is adopted by the Independent Commission, it does seem a tad harsh.

Maybe if you get 50 points put on your side, you also need to have 3 of the following list occur during the same game to be excluded from the finals:

* concede at least 7 penalties,
* 2 players on report
* 1 sendoff and/or 2 sin bins,
* Jason Ryles is in your run on side
* Jason Ryles played for your club within the last 5 years,
* Jason Ryles never played for your club,
* Your waterboy played First Grade within the past 3 seasons
* Your waterboys last name rhymes with Movie

I guess you will now be adding Souths to the list of teams that shouldn't play Finals footy?

Your current list would be:

- Roosters (60 points vs Bulldogs, Round 3)
- Broncos (48 points vs Warriors, Round 3 .. close enough)
- Tigers (50 points vs Rabbitohs, Round 10)
- Warriors (50 points vs Tigers, Round 12)
- Rabbitohs (50 points vs Broncos, Round 14)

Not a bad idea, actually .. it eliminates teams currently ranked 3rd, 5th and 7th on the NRL ladder.

Or do Broncos, Tigers, Warriors and Rabbitohs get absolved on the basis that even though they have copped 50 against one of those 3 other teams, they have also put 50 on one of those 3 other teams ... :crazy::crazy:

Rabbitohs 50 vs 10 Tigers (+40)
Tigers 50 vs 6 Warriors (+84)
Warriors 48 vs 18 Broncos (+114)

So "thinking about it logically", as you mentioned in your opening post, the Rabbitohs should have beaten Brisbane by 114 points today, LOL.

Irrelevant, I think ... because the OP started the thread after the Tigers lost to Souths 50-10 i.e. 40 points only.

The heaviest loss this year has been 46 points (Bulldogs 60 - 14 Roosters), so no club has lost by 50 points this season.

As such, I took the post to suggest "When a team has 50 points scored against them."

It is pretty remarkable, though, that 4 of the 5 teams who have conceded 48+ points in a game this season are also 4 of the 5 teams to have scored 48+ points in a game this season.

-If Ricky Stuart has coached your team in the last 5 years (Roosters and sharks)

That has only 9 teams competing for the 8, how awesome would that be.
