Have a read of this article....but an interesting note is below....

WALKING WOUNDED
For the Warriors, hooker Tevita Latu should return from shoulder injury in round 21.
Eels prop Aaron Canning is on track to make a return from a broken arm next week as is winger Eric Grothe Jr (hamstring). Prop Nathan Cayless is expected back from an arm injury in round 19.

Seems a bit premature for both Cannings and Cayless. The Big League had them both listed as indefinite as is Grothe because the injuries are taking a lot longer than expected. The above does sound more encouraging so hope they know something we don't.

Cannings has been out for a bloody long time. Initially the injury was eight weeks which should have had him back well before now - apparently his arm has healed slowly but its been almost three months.

Grothe has been a week to week proposition from what I have been told by EO so he could be back this week or he could be like Pearson.

According to the Injured Eels on the OS - updated 21/6/04

Cannings - full training in 3-4 weeks
Cayless - 6 weeks
O'Dwyer - 2-3 weeks
Eric Grothe - indefinite.

Going by the date sportal is probably about right.

Do not trust Sportal.com.au, for the last 5 weeks they have said that Cannings and Cayless will be due back the following week.

I have to ask the question over whether there are problems among the club doctors and fitness staff. We've had a huge amount of injuries over the past couple of years and in a number of occasions certain player's injuries have turned out a lot worse than initially diagnosed. Could there be something about Parramatta's training which leads to increased chance of injury?

Cayless said in the game v Manly @ Parra he'd be out for 6-8 weeks more that was round 13

13 +6 = 19

I think that we just have a few very slow healers at the club. Dr Johnson is the bloke guys like Johns etc. use when they need surgery so we have the best in the business. I have heard of blokes having reco's with other docs, re-injuring the same area and then having Johnson do the next one. None to my knowledge have ever had probs from that point. I think maybe luck is playing a major role in this one.
