Well i emailed Steve Noyce yesterday afternoon in regards to where Benji's contract negotiations stand at the moment so here is the official word for you guys..............

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your email.
Naturally we are all keen to retain Benji at the Club.
Following his recent operation, he returned home to NZ for a couple of weeks so his management company have not been in a position to talk to him re our new offer. Benji is now back & therefore we can continue the process with him & his management.

Regards,
Steve

There we go........doesnt tell us a lot really but at least its some insight to where they are at..........my guess is once they've finished looking at recruitment for next season which must be shortly they'll get back on it.

I also asked and recieved this

Hi .....,
Thanks for your email.
The result last weekend was very disappointing and I fully understand your disappointment & frustration.
Please do not believe that Benji is "practically gone" as we are all working hard to extend his contract with WT.
Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Steve

but i am very appreciative of a reply and dismisses rumours the board doesnt answer emails

I got a reply back from Noyce also.

He doesnt share the same view as me - that we should pay him what he is demanding.

No way pay him what his worth. Pay him what he deserves. I think an incentive based contract $150K a year, with a bonus of $2,500 per try, and $2,000 per try assist. $50K if he makes either SOO or the NZ national side. He'd stay for that, if not BYE BYE BENJI.

yeh i got a reply from noyce.. but isent the email away before the bneji thing so it doesn't have much to do with that.. it was more player signings, dissapointing results and how i believed that the club treats its supporters fiarly shabily

Hi Brendan,
Thanks for your email.
The past 4 weeks have been very disappointing, however, please be assured that Tim and all at the Club are working very hard to turn things around.
In relation to selections, you can only replace people if you think that there are other people who can come in and do a better job.
We are aware that we need forwards & whilst it was disappointing to miss out on Wikki & Morrison there are a number of other options under consideration.
I totally disagree with your statement that the club is way out of contact with the fans. Fans are very important to this Club and always will be, so are all the other stakeholders in WT.
Regards,
Steve

I assume all the people that abused Noyce for not answering emails will be apologising. He may be the best or the shitest CEO in the NRL but one thing he does is correspond with fans who take the time to contact him.

I think Contrary to what most people in here think, i think Noyce has done a great job in turning the club around. There's no way it can all be attributed to Tim Sheens, sure he's played his part but i think Steve and his management are no more responsible than Tim is.

Sure its tough now but just because we buy some better players doesnt mean we're instantly a better side. Last season we bought smartly and its shown, who's been our best players this season? Prince, Hodgson, Elford, Sattler....all new players. The way we bought was smart, we're not a powerful club who can keep splashing the sort of money that dreams are made of, this was our first chance in 4 seasons to make a good move in the market and we did well.

Times are tough now but overall they're better than they've ever been for wests tigers, i dont think anyone here can seriously deny that.

Time will tell, I will only say he's the man for the job if we win the comp next year, and Noyce turns out to do a Shane Richardson. He won a comp in 3 years at Penrith, it's his time to shine next year.

Dont be so hard on them, When sheens was brought in he didnt promise a premiership in 3 seasons, he simply said in 3 season he believes this side will turn into a genuine top 8 side, and the makings of that are certainly there.

I was talking about Richardson/Noyce. Not Sheens.

im not really sure because wests tigers only have season ticket holders, the members are all Balmain and wests, so i would assume its in their power.

And Joel, i know your talking about them but Noyce and co havent failed in their jobs as far as i can see? The club is where it was forcasted to be at.
