I got a reply back from Noyce also.

He doesnt share the same view as me - that we should pay him what he is demanding.

No way pay him what his worth. Pay him what he deserves. I think an incentive based contract $150K a year, with a bonus of $2,500 per try, and $2,000 per try assist. $50K if he makes either SOO or the NZ national side. He'd stay for that, if not BYE BYE BENJI.

If we don't pay him market value for his position he will go elsewhere. We are not in the position to be able to gamble with leaving players unsigned for to long. We are not the Bronco's, Roosters or Dragons etc that can afford to leave there players unsigned for long periods as they are a competive unit year after year, players will stay with them for that fact alone.

I think we all share the same concern, even if we express it differently. I just hope that the club and Benji can come to some sort of long term agreement.

I believe players will stay at a club even if its under the market's value in most cases, its called loyalty, still these things are not guaranteed.

Balmain/Wests were never ones to have a gun held to their heads in regards to player payments. We shouldn't start now.

The Balmain football club board appoints the Balmain sides JV board members. Presumably a vote of no confidence of the Balmain members in a general meeting would get rid of targetted board members, or possibly a special resolution. Day to day though it's Balmain's board that makes the decisions so members have a hard job forcing changes. (fat chance)

At Wests it's even harder. 2 are directly nominated by Wests Ashfield, 2 by Wests Campbelltown, and the last one by the board of Wests Football Club (it's always the club chairman). So for us to make any changes you've got to force changes through three different clubs' boards (i.e. it ain't gonna happen).

yappy this is the problem, to many diffrent people on the board, we have people coming all with diffrent views no wonder we cannever agree.

ever since i can remember--the tigers have been mean, when it came to shelling out the dollars for players--and have they lost a few good ones over the years, because they wouldnt put their hand in their pocket--noyce comes from a long line of inept bosses-we have had at the joint----i think 2005 is going to be a disaster and could be the end for the joint venture--i think every club is marching forward except for us--we are going downhill so quick--benji would be mad to sign with our mob-under the present set up
