Got a feeling I'll be kicking off a contentious issue here - but would something like this not be good for our game ?

The eligibility requirements are interesting - and hopefully enforced.

Like the idea of the players being able to play on the big stage at a big game ( albeit in a 9's format).

I should qualify this by saying I wouldn't want is as a replacement to the World Cup....more like a stepping stone / development tournament.

I assume you mean a developing nations world cup, be it 9s or 13s. A lot of cost for very, very little gain if you ask me.

I suggest you take a look at the fight club IC14 thread to see why this would be a bad idea.

Mmmmmmmm...............maybe I shouldn't use this website straight after a long day

Can now. see the valid arguments against such a tournament.

I just checked their Facebook page. Some good stuff being done. Seems like they are running a women's company at the same time. I like that idea.

Today ABC News did a story in their sports segment for the USA team and a player from the US who's signed with North Melbourne and is playing with their feeder team. Good exposure. Couldn't see that getting a run for League.
