Anasta moves from lock to five-eighth
March 22, 2007 - 3:15PM

Braith Anasta's transition to lock has been put on hold with the former NSW State of Origin five-eighth returned to pivot for the Sydney Roosters in Saturday's NRL match against North Queensland.

A broken big toe to halfback Josh Lewis forced Roosters coach Chris Anderson into a reshuffle for the Dairy Farmers Stadium match.

Mitch Aubusson has been relegated from No.6 to the bench and Mitchell Pearce is the new halfback.

Test forward Anthony Tupou drops back from the second row to lock while ex-Bulldog Nate Myles comes into the run-on side in the back row.

Why didnt he just promote Soward? I thought i heard from someone here that he had an absolute blinder for the Jets last week.
Is Anderson going to treat Soward the same way he treated Preston at the Sharks?
Also, any word on wether the 1 marker stratergy will be persisted with this week?

That must be frustrating for Braith, despite a few mistakes he looked confident and enthusiastic at lock on Monday night. His replacement Aubusson looked like the 06 version of Anasta - a lock trying to be a five-eighth. The Roosters lack balance - too many locks, too many halfbacks. Braith is bearing the brunt of that imbalance.

Geez, I was suprised he went with a new combo last week. I think the easy (and possibly best fix if he wants quick results) is to promote soward and try one of the other guys at 5/8. Anasta is not the answer.

Bwaif was a decent five-eighth in his initial years with us, he let the pressure get to him.

He could never run the show. Which is what I think Anderson wants. He was always a player who complements an organiser.

Didn't Anderson say that he would play Anarseta all season in his rightful position of lock?

What're odds of Anderson being first coach to get the boot?

Its temporary.

Pearce is making his debut after Lewis has a minor injury, and since Aubbuson at 5/8 didnt turn out well, he needs some experience next to him in the halves. ;)

We may end up seeing Pearce and Lewis in the halves, or Flannery may be the 5/8 when hes back.

If I could find a market for it, I would put my hard earnt on it. I thought he would be good. But I think he spent too much time in Union.
