I couldn't care less........im almost positive last year there where players who didn't even make the City/Country sides...yet they where later chosen for SOO.

It's a stupid waste of a game anyway, atleast our players won't be there to recieve a potential injury.

True, although I really think Grothe deserves a run in the City Country game ahead of both El Masri and Rooney, both who are very overated players, I'm sure if the Parramatta North Queensland game was won by Parramatta Grothe would have been choosen in the team.

Also Hindmarsh wasn't choosen because he played in the Test side.

Here's the team:

CITY
1 Brett Hodgson (West Tigers)
2 Hazem El Masri (Bulldogs)
3 Mark Gasnier (Dragons)
4 Luke Lewis (Panthers)
5 Luke Rooney (Panthers)
6 Braith Anasta (Bulldogs)
7 Matt Orford (Storm)
8 Jason Stevens (Sharks)
9 Mark Riddell (Dragons)
10 Mark O'Meley (Bulldogs)
11 Bryan Fletcher, captain (Rabbitohs)
12 Lance Thompson (Dragons)
13 Steve Menzies (Sea Eagles)

Subs:
14 John Skandalis (Wests Tigers)
15 Shane Rodney (Panthers)
16 Sam Harris (Sea Eagles)
17 Brad Drew (Raiders)

Coach: Graham Murray

COUNTRY
1 Luke Patten (Bulldogs)
2 Amos Roberts (Dragons)
3 Matt Cooper (Dragons)
4 Matt King (Storm)
5 Joel Monaghan (Raiders)
6 Scott Hill (Storm)
7 Brett Kimmorley (Sharks)
8 Peter Cusack (Roosters)
9 Luke Priddis (Panthers)
10 Ryan O'Hara (Raiders)
11 Andrew Ryan (Bulldogs)
12 Willie Mason (Bulldogs)
13 Glenn Morrison (Cowboys)

Subs:
14 Daniel Abraham (Knights)
15 Luke Davico (Raiders)
16 Kurt Gidley (Knights)
17 Brent Kite (Dragons)

Coach: Ricky Stuart

No players who were selected in the Australian Test side for the April 23 Test weren't considered for selection.

ParraMatt: Grothe won't make the SOO side!!

RJ: yeah!! at the end of the day I couldn't care less as well however when just about every club has a player playing and we don't it's almost as embarresing as our current coaching decisions.

I still see him as a bolter possibility. Though Phil Gould probably has a deathwish out against him since he left the Roosters.

No Parra players, but a few Ex-Parra Players in Hodgson, Drew and Ryan.

There are only 3 clubs who will not have a representative player in the City v Country match;

Broncos, Warriors & Eels.

Obviously no surprise with Broncos and the Warriors. Very disappointing there are no Eels if that is the case, but realistically the form the team is in only Hindmarsh deverses a run and he has been rested. Grothe can consider himself unlucky, but I think he cost himself a spot with some dumb thing in the last couple of weeks.

Some dildo has obviously told him that he should look to pass and offload in tackles more often!! This kid should just get the ball and run!!

yeah i agree... grothe should be picked but i doubt it...good for us but.. least we wont have to find a new winger...

from a personal point of view.. ive always had this feeling that grothe wasnt really into the eels... sounded like he never wanted to leave roosters.. and everytime he scores he doesnt acknowledge his teammates.. or even clap them when they score... no emotions...

id only be satisfied once bs extends his contract... from what ive read its on 1 yr..

knowing parra... he'll prolly get snapped up by another team.. roosters again under there funny salary cap

Perhaps the selectors saw the mistakes that Grothe made rather than the try that he scored.

i think Eric is contracted until the end of 2005. He has been a truly shining light so far this season - otherwise there's been little to get excited about.

let's face it, apart from Grothe and Hindmarsh (who is exempt), noone else was going to ever get within shouting distance of rep honours on what we've seen so far.

If its any consolation, we had Vaeliki and Cayless in the NZ side.

the city country game use to be good when the country boys played in the country, they would do anything to beat there city rivals.thats how cronin got his run for australia and if it was a proper country team, there wouldn't be a big enough stadium around for the country folks to view it.some of these guys probly only lived in the country for 10 yrs :?

One of my favorite sporting memories Country V City ...1982 at Bruce Stadium. The day Sterlo made his rep debut in the City seconds. Holds a very special place in my heart.
