Weidler was quoted as saying that Anderson was sacked at the start of the Show.
they rang up Anderson & asked him tough questions.
On Burgess.
Friend for 7 years. Anderson said loyalty & would not comment further.

On Pierce
no comment.

On the Sharks
Anderson said he loved the place
Again said his priority was the players.

Then gave a dark cliche driven spiel about being at the Sharks next year.

Then turned to Australia & his demeanour lightened up & could not shut him up.
No question of what is more important to him if demeanour is a guide.

Reckons he installed Raper as assistant.

Matty johns may be without a welcome after he said"Opes, can you work with those bunch of dribblers at the Sharks?"

On Campbell
I don't have a problem with Preston. We let him go because he did not have a future at the Sharks because I brought Kimmorley to the club.
He's done well.

On Campbell Oz selection
yeah he's a chance.
Clarified later by another question on penrith OZ selection where 2 panthers forwards were a chance & 1 or 2 back.

up to eight Roosters.

More as i think of it.
Not word for word & it could contain my usual bias. So please none of the usual.

Do either you or Aries feel like copying and pasting into one or the other threads so we can have just the one going?

well, it seems they were both done at near the same time

I will as mine was second.

btw, this is weird? the interview was an hour ago, yet we both post now? I had to go out for a while and was listening to half of it then, thats why I just posted it.

It seems me and btr both started a thread about the same time... anyway, this is the way I saw the interview, as the other thread will now be deleted. Frenzy delete it mate ;-)

I was listening to the sports Saturday show on 2SM and the interviewed CA earlier.

He has re-affirmed he is going nowhere and will be incharge next year. He talked passionatley about his plans for next year and the players he has for next year. He denied that the Theo Burges sacking was retaliatory and basically said it's something that he and Theo have to work through as mates.

Matty Johns called the board "a bunch of dribblers" when he put a question to CA, which I had a quiet chuckle about... what's wrong with dribblers?

CA ducked a question, like a test batsman ducks a bouncer, about Danny Weilder, and basically said he has no comment about anything Danny says...

and finally when big dazza asked him about the possibility of Preston being picked for the tour, CA just said he has no problem with PC and would look forward to having him in the team. He thinks he is a champion little bloke and also wished him all the best for tommorrow and in the future...

There were other things discussed but I was doing a few things and not paying that much attention at the time. These are the ones I see relevant though...

funny?! I thought comments by the coach for 2004 and on half the threads on here at the moment would be anything but "boring"!

Maybe, you think what CA says is boring, or what btr says is boring or what the threads discuss here are boring!! I find you post boring actually :p

hmm ....im a bit weary of wiedlers comments, and i cant dismiss them as easily as i'd like to....

Im of the belief that weidler has close links to pierce or other board members with a grudge against opes, and can get information fairly easily........

A payout would be murderous though .....considering they would more than likely have to pay off the extra 2 years that are apart of his performance clause aswell

Don't worry about "more than likely" the answer to that is definitely.

I've been told a figure, yesterday, which simply rules out Ando being sacked. Won't happen. He has to walk for the club to be rid of him. Don't forget if they pay him out they still have to pay Raper. It'd also mean we'd have to release players. There's not just the contract money, there's potential bonuses to be considered as well.

I'm of the opinion a different solution may be reached. There's a couple of possibilities I think.

Want to expand on that by any chance, Frenzy?

umm not really Z

I have hunches based on snippets I heard yesterday is all. I don't claim to know anything even semi solid at this time.

Loosely, I don't think all the Super League clubs in the UK have coaches yet.

or

The structure of a club's coaching staff can always be changed.

I was thinking of that one myself...

Shift Stuey into 1st grade, Wack someone else into Assistant coach or whatever and give Opes a Job like Gus has at the Roosters.

Problem solved and no payout required. This also reduced the risk of us losing our Star Halfback.
