Anderson returns
February 12, 2004

CHRIS Anderson will coach the Dragons next week.

The Kangaroos and former Sharks coach will take a break from his enforced absence from coaching in the name of charity.

Anderson will partner St George Illawarra coach Nathan Brown to prepare the Dragons Allstars for their 6pm clash against the USA Tomahawks at Oki Jubilee Stadium next Wednesday.

Proceeds from the game will aid the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation. The foundation was set up in memory of Joanne Mackay, the young wife of former St George and Australian player Brad Mackay, who passed away nearly two years ago.

Money raised by the foundation provides help for breast cancer patients in their daily lives.

Organisers are confident next Wednesday's game will be a success.

Brad Mackay will be just one of a Who's Who of former St George greats playing against the Tomahawks.

Other big names include Mark Coyne, Graeme Wynn, Scott Gourley, Ted Goodwin, Ricky Walford, Jeff Hardy, Wayne Collins, Noel Goldthorpe, Mick Potter, David Barnhill, Matt Elliott, Harry Eden, Pat Jarvis and Anthony Mundine.

Gates open at 4pm. Tickets cost $10 for adults, kids and pensioners $5 and children under five free.

Retired record-breaking referee Bill Harrigan will control the game.

Well Well Well!

Who else think this is funny?!? Obviously his reputation hasn't been damaged that badly! He can still pull in a 'job' with the Dragons! Should knock a bit off his $1.3mil asking price!! He CAN still get a job, so he SHOULD try to and not bleed us dry!

STAY THERE ANDO...
Give them a "winning culture" hey?!?

(By the way, it actually IS good to see him HELPING! Charities like this need and deserve all the help they can get.)

this is priceless.
Poor old Dimwitri will be choking on his corny's.

I feel this is just the begining , Browny is on thin ice ...Anderson helping out ...has a very familiar ring about it.

C'mon guys don't get too excited, he is only coaching the Joanne Mackay Charity game versus the USA.

I hardly think it's a permanent gig - even the Dragqueens wouldn't be silly enough to hire Ando with his track record for turmoil, plus they couldn't afford him anyway.

However it did give me a giggle though.

Yeah I know that's all it is. But after the crap that the Dragons fans gave us about hiring him, and how bad we were going under him, it's BLOODY FUNNY that now he is in some way involved with them!

This is so funny I cant believe it. Sucked in Dragons.

But then again if your club's coach was a waterboy, of course you'd take whatever help you can get.

I know he's only involved with the charity gig featuring only ex saints players but if I were Nathan Brown I'd be looking over my shoulder. I've heard he's on thin ice.

Absolutely, me too

I've heard he's on thin ice
Yep, cos he's a waterboy. I saw him on the news the other day handing out jumpers to the players, it still hasnt hit me that NATHAN BROWN of all people is a FIRST GRADE COACH, it really defies belief, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrell!

he won premierships with the bulldogs and the storm

but everyone knew it would be impossible to win a premiership at a club like THE SHARKS

he tried to set up a winning culture

he got rid of all their juniors

i'm yet to see the illawarra dragons win a comp yet out of their little wollongong base

they couldnt even do it with a team worth about $7 million in 99

they wont do it with a waterboy as coach and you know it

maybe the dregs will win a comp but anderson will have to be the man to do it or you wont get to see it

surely the AIDS virus will claim you before long

It's hardly an "ENFORCED ABSENCE" now is it?!?
He's apparently so good that other clubs would be lining up for him to coach them. Maybe he can start with coaching the Under 8s at Bankstown. The Bulldogs club apparently has a 'winning culture', so let him spread that the their juniors. Enforced absence my arse!

Dimitri goes to the doctor. His doctor sez 'you've got AIDS, I need the names of the last fifty people you slept with'

Dimitri sez 'I haven't got eyes in the back of my head...'

Dimitri you cant moan about the St george area being trolled if you are over here.

And if Chris Anderson could win STi a Premiership, i'd sign him tomorrow. Although with his heart condition he probably wouldnt live that long.
