From FoxSports today:
Anderson to face music
By Dean Ritchie
November 25, 2003
AUSTRALIAN Test coach Chris Anderson has not yet finished savouring a 3-0 drubbing of Great Britain - but today he returns home to confront the coaching saga that has plagued the Cronulla club for a year.
Anderson said yesterday he wanted his coaching future settled as soon as possible.
When he left with the Kangaroos seven weeks ago, the club had just told Anderson he could not even talk to his players.
Anderson is tiring of the situation but also feels a need to fight on for the sake of his players, particularly those he enticed to the club.
"It has to be sorted out straight away - for the sake of the players and their upcoming season," Anderson said.
"Preparation at that time of year for next season is really important.
"The players won't know where they are heading if there isn't any preparation.
"They can't be thinking: 'What's going on here?'
"They need direction at training."
In his absence, assistant coach Stuart Raper has been training the Sharks.
"We can't have this rolling over into Christmas," Anderson said. "I have no idea what the club is thinking so I'll just have to wait and see."
Anderson will meet with his manager George Mimis this week to discuss the Cronulla coaching position.
Halfback Brett Kimmorley is heavily backing Anderson's retention.
