Need the election to be earlier. Before this rabble of a board screw things over.
They have the 3Ps though..Makes you wonder how long have they been off their Ls

Ozzie might have to look into replacing himself if he doesn't come up with some decent signings.
Firstly, this the Telecrap we are talking about. Hardly a reliable source. How many times have they run a similar article? Last year, how much crap did they sprout on about Parramatta making the wrong decision by hiring a coach who has only coached park football & then, in the same breath, stating that Stephen Kearney would be a much better choice overlooking the fact he has NEVER coached a first grade side???
Secondly, no one can dispute Andersons coaching credentials. He got the Warriors to the finals for the first time in his first year there. Then they made the GF the following year. He moved on from there to have A LOT of success in the ESL. Then, finally, he gets handed a dud side at the Eels, put together by a dud coach (who now has a history of leaving clubs in a mess). At the start of last season, everyone was prepared for the worst. As long as we avoided the wooden spoon, he would have done a great job is what many on this forum were saying. Did he lean on this crutch? Did he take this excuse? No. He took a rabble & made history by becoming the first team in the history of the NRL to make the GF from 8th. But this has turned out to be his big mistake. He is now paying for over-achievement. Those who know very little about what it takes to coach a team are again seizing their opportunity to point the finger.
Thirdly, regarding team selection & new recruits, I am of the same opinion as eels81236. It would seem that Anderson does not get complete control over his team. The obvious example: We all know Mortimer has been struggling all season. It would seem to me that Anderson was instructed (for whatever reason) that Mortimer cannot be dropped. Maybe it is to do with what is in Mortimers contract. In Ozzie & the boards ridiculous haste to sign a Mortimer before the Dogs, maybe certain promises were made. A guaranteed spot in first grade or maybe it was having a prominent 3rd party sponsor only come on board if Mortimer was in the starting 17. Who knows? But as soon as it was leaked that Mortimer was to be rested last night, the knives came out for Anderson. Coincidence? Perhaps. The signing of Tahu also springs to mind. I never remember Anderson coming out & saying I want Tahu. It all came from Ozzie & the board. I also remember hearing on this forum about how Tim Smith was being looked at by Anderson but who torpedoed that idea? Ozzie & the board. It wouldnt surprise me in the least to find out this crusade to get rid of Anderson & make his job as difficult as possible in the meantime stems from some ridiculous grudge being held because Fitzgerald appointed him.
I, for one, support Anderson staying & being given full control over the NRL squad. Let him build his team. He earned the right to have more time last season. One last thing, in hindsight, maybe keeping Fitzgerald would not have been such a bad thing. We now appear to have a board of knuckle-heads struggling to keep the promises they made before election. Food for thought.

Now taylor is mentioned as a replacement. He is only coach I would be happy with !!!!
Wayne Bennett is off contract at the end of 2011, a suitable candidate for sure but it would leave us with an interim coach for a year and make 2011 an even bleaker prospect than it is currently.
The only potentially good thing coming out of this colossal corporate f**k over is that Anderson and the playing squad might draw in close with something akin to a siege mentality and find an extra gear over the next 2 months (fingers crossed) culminating in glorious triumph and the perfect f**k you to the spineless suits in our club.
It would also be a fitting farewell for Caylo and a just reward for Hindy and Burt...but I digress.
*A friendly warning as at this point a rant takes over this post*
The opposite is much more likely to occur as our season could implode due to the boardroom bitching and backstabbing that is rife and rampant. The levels of self-interest and promotion are absolutely f**king ridiculous and have become a blight upon our club. HOW DARE THEY PULL THIS sh*t AT SUCH A CRUCIAL POINT IN OUR SEASON.
There were mentions of a petition in other threads and the idea has alot of merit. If every member, season ticket holder and blue and gold blooded supporter on these forums organised as many compatriots as we could I bet you we could send a powerful message to these asshats long before the April elections. I will gladly lend time and effort to such a movement.

Yes.... you go do that. Get the 80 posters in this forum to join you. Very powerful you will become.
Meanwhile the hundreds of thousands like myself will call for heads if parra don't make the finals.
Mate, if you are happy watching our club implode simply because Anderson hurt your feelings in regards to Inu and Mateo then all the more power to you.
As it stands we have a board that is leaking confidential and important information at a horrific rate to Australia's most fickle publication whilst undermining the confidence of our entire grade squad by f**king around with a coach that has done a damn well good enough job with a roster that is crippled by a lack of first grade quality halves.
Jarryd Hayne, your 'Chosen One' has come out an unequivocally backed Daniel Anderson and he is not alone as Luke Burt and Nathan Hindmarsh have publicly voiced their support of Anderson.
But if it makes you feel better and bigger for calling me out for giving more than half a f**k about what is happening to our club and what it means for our future then go ahead and be my guest.
Mate, I'm a diehard parra fan like yourself and any coach that fails to get our team into the top 8 must be SACKED. I am still hopeful we can make it but it won't be because of DA's coaching. It comes down to our players whom many won't be playing together for a long time if ever. This might be the inspiration of getting us through. I like yourself worry where our club is headed and so have expressed my opinions and as always will respect yours. My bad if I added a little sarcasm to my posts. Never take to heart what I say, there just opinions and not against any of my fellow eel supporters.
Thank you, that was a much more pleasant discourse.
Likewise I am somewhat overloaded on vitriol as here we are trying to mount momentum for our desperate tilt at the finals in what is one of our most stalwart servant's final hoorah and it is threatening to be all undone because some over opinionated, self-important board members can not keep their god damn mouths shut long enough for us to simply play football.
If they want to sign a player, or look for a replacement coach or do whatever our board should be doing at least have the common sense to do it discreetly and in a manner that will not impede our team.
