With Ramsey gone and Sloan most likely not re-signed our fullback stocks are very low.
We have Gutho and his time is up, Feagai is playing fullback for NSW cup.

Besides a halfback a fullback should be our no.1 priority.
Drinkwater is signed for 27 so he would have to get an early release to come in 27.

Alone he's not solving our problems but surely will help along with Reed, Sami, Koloamatangi and some more signings.

Agree...But we need more depth and decent signings with speed.

Drinkwater is 28 next yr ? Sami is 29 ..KK is 28.... not so much a problem with KK but the other 2 possibly on a downward spiral....

That said, anything is better than the current mob of clowns.

It is being reported that names such as Damien Cook, Jaydn Su'A, Luciano Leilua, Tyrell Sloan, Blake Lawrie and Christian Tuipulotu are fighting for their Red V future in the coming weeks.

Good, a huge clean out is needed. The only one I would consider keeping is Su'a if we moved him to the middle. It is time next year for Egan and Halangahu to be given their opportunity to start full time.

Leilua can go, we've all read his playbook before. Will play for a contract and once he gets it, he goes back to being overweight and unfit.

Use the cap space to go hard after a top line fullback, half and hooker (for me I'm a big fan of Mozer), as well as another winger in addition to Sami. Would probably be looking at a centre as well if we can get Suli off the books early. There is a lot of work to be done on this roster still.

If Daniel Anderson wants to really show he is a good operator, this will be a nice challenge for him to prove that he is.

Dragons culling these players mentioned above shows that they are putting their faith in the youngsters so people should not fear that they will leave. If anything this will help guarantee they will be here for the long term giving them all the faith that they are our future.

slippery i think someone in head office just woke up and realised these players arent marquees and can be replaced. Add Guler into the mix and surely we can do better . i really want to know why laurie and sloan are up for contract talks when we told them they could leave
we need to be as ruthless as gould keep turning over players until you get the right ones

Harsh on Su'a. He's been our best forward for years.

Egan > Luc, Loko> Blake and thought Sloan was off contract. Feel for CT, used as a battering ram, can't remember when he scored last.

Thing is, Anderson might make a lot of recommendations which would be good about who to sign, retain, cut or recruit, but what most people (including many people posting here) do not know is who has the final say on implementing those recommendations. Is it the CEO? The Coach? The Football Manager? The Recruitment Manager?

That is what can make it harder to work out where the real problem lies.

Dolphins fullback Trai Fuller has stunningly rejected a contract offer from the St George Illawarra Dragons, choosing to remain with his current club despite interest from the Red V.
The Dragons had approached Fuller as part of a push to add a proven attacking weapon to help turn around a winless start to their season.

Fuller, 26, has impressed in limited opportunities with the Dolphins, showcasing the speed and skill that made him a standout in junior and reserve grades, but has been behind established stars, limiting his first-grade game time.
Since his electric debut in 2023, it had been widely thought that a club could eventually lure him away from Redcliffe with a guaranteed starting role.
Despite the chance to secure that role at the Dragons, Fuller has opted to stay put and continue his development with the Dolphins accoridng to Nine and WWOS reporter Danny Wiedler.

LATEST: Trai Fuller has informed the Dragons he won’t be taking up their offer. Scott Drinkwater is still a target. @9NewsSyd @NRLonNine— Danny Weidler (@Danny_Weidler) April 8, 2026
Dolphins coach Kristian Woolf would be be relieved with Fuller’s decision, with his retention vital for squad depth and attacking options, particularly as the NRL approaches the Origin period when first-choice fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow may be unavailable.
The rejection is a damning reflection of the Dragons’ current struggles and should be a major concern, though Fuller was not the only player the club had targeted.

Recently out-of-favour Cowboys star Scott Drinkwater was also linked to the Dragons, while the re-signing of rising talent Jaxson Purdue only adds pressure to Drinkwater’s situation in Townsville.
According to reports he is still an option for the Red V and it now seems likely efforts might accelerate to pry him away form Townsville amid Fullers rejection.
Losing the opportunity to secure Fuller though is another setback for the Dragons and will only intensify the pressure on the club and co

What’s going on? I’ve just heard on the news that Drinkwater knocked us back as well
I'm OK with that if true. I know we're desperate but remember the Tigers won the spoon three years in a row before their turnaround. There's hope for us yet. Don't know if I could survive that though. I'm really enjoying their ride at the moment and I've semi-adopted them as my team while we get our shit together.
