I tell you what, if the NRL or the NSWRL decide to back the Johns cause financially, Queenslanders will be spitting!!!!!!

No one lifted a finger when we lost Tuqiri, Sailor and Rogers!!!

it looks like joey want's to cross the great divide. he said the RWC was so impressive, he would like to be part of it.

the way the deal is being structured the ARU has no risk exposure. If Joey makes the grade he will be a WALLABY, if he falls short or is injury prone then only outsiders will pay the price.

It's win, win for theARU and Joey.

League can more than match the money but it cannot match the world stage. Joey believes he can be a success at the 15 a side game. If he is willing to back himself then why shoud anyone stand against him. Good luck to the lad. If he cuts muster he will be welcomed.

Andrew Johns is saving league by draining the ARU of its World Cup largesse. Even though the majority of the money comes from outside sources combine the waratah contract with the tuquri, sailor and rogers contracts and we are killing them! :D

Less ARU money to realy take over the domestic market.

This is not true JK, the package that is being offered to Johns is only the standard $110,000 + $50,000 in match payments that the Waratahs can pay their players. Any money above this, such as the money that Sailor and Rogers etc are on is provided by the ARU, they have told the Waratahs that they don't want Johns so they won't provide the necessary top-ups.

The big money that is being thrown around is being supplied by private backers in the form of endorsments, business opportunities etc. For the ARU Johns would be a win-win situation, if he fails then they only lose another player but if he kills it (which I think he would) they can pick him for the Wallabies.

Did you actually watch any of the games axl??

Oh unfortunately I missed Uruguay v Canada. Seeing as your so keen I hope you can give us blow by blow score updates next World Cup. Should be riveting.

Unlike you obviously, watching goal kicking is not fascinating to most sports fans.

Mate, I wasn't having a go at you and I do admit that there were some pretty poor games in the RWC (Uruguay v Georgia) but on the whole it was a great comp with some excellent games.

This thread is about Joey Johns not Union v League, thats what the Fight Clubs for so leave it there.
