I think Ireland is one of the most sporting countries in the world with 2 national Soccer teams, Rugby Union, GAA ( both Hurling and Football) and the cross over with Aussie Rules and even Rugby League plus Cricket was one of the bigger games before GAA came along and population less then Scotland where Soccer is wasted on the majority of the country.
