Australia has a new comedy TV star.
Anh Do’s Anh Does Vietnam scored a massive ratings win for Channel 7 last night.
The celebrated stand-up comedian’s humorous travel show grabbed a whopping 1.678 million viewers nationally.
Anh Does Vietnam crushed rivals 60 Minutes (1.251 million viewers) and Julian Assange: The Real Story (711,000).
“This is an out-of-the box result,” media analyst Steve Allen says.
“Anh Does Vietnam has rated better than Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year show on Channel 9.
“There is no question that Anh is now a major asset for Seven.”
Vietnamese-born Do is the author of award-winning autobiography The Happiest Refugee, which chronicled his journey, by boat, to Australia as a child.
The 2-part Anh Does Vietnam, which continues next Sunday, saw Do returning to Vietnam to re-discover the land of his birth.
Do has built a popular following with guest appearances on Thank God You’re Here and Good News Week.
He was the runner-up on Dancing with the Stars in 2007.



Ahn is ten times funnier then hamish and andy ....who had massive budget/ salaries

It's a pretty sad state of affairs if the mental midget combination of Kath and Kim, Hamish and Andy and Ahn Do are competing for the top ratings spots.
