Announcement date of release date

Can anyone confirm when the release date will be announced? Potentially the game is only a month away yet no release date has been announced. Why would this be? Are they having problems finishing the game? I went into an EB in Manukau (thats Sth Auckland a fairly strong league area for NZ) and preordered the game. The guy behind the counter was just as excited as I was but said he was surprised at the lack of orders he had so far. Maybe thats because there has been no publicity in the main stream media about the game at all. No release date, nothing. I'm an avid league fan, season ticket holder, etc but if I wasn't a member of this forum I would have no idea that this game was coming out. Any comment from Mario et al?

Awareness in NZ is quite low at the moment because there hasn't bben much in the way of mainstream advertising.

I am aware of some initiatives that GameWizz, the NZ distributor, is undertaking to promote the game in the coming weeks as well as our own promotions (such as Armagedeon in WGTN). Once that stuff goes onstream, then sales should increase dramatically in New Zealand once people become aware of the game.

In the mean time, feel free to tell everybody you know that the game is coming out

Given the response we have had from retailers, interest has been strong but is expected to grow a lot as release approaches. We are still over a month from release after all.

i too dont think i would have heard of this game if it wasnt for these forums, i keep hearing that there is something played at NRL games at half time, i can guarantee you it has not been played at Lang Park for any of the bronco games ive been to this year.

Lack of orders shop could have something to do with the fact its South Auckland :lol:

We will announce a release date when we are very sure of what that date will be.

I don't want to announce something and then have to push it back - everybody hates that.

For now, continue to expect mid to late October.

i just contacted my local games wizard store, now i live in country nsw my town's bout 30 000 pop, anyway i was told i must pre-order the games if i want it when it first comes out as hundreds of copies have already been pre-ordered, the guy could be bullsh*ttin me, but if not thats pretty good

That could be correct. I have had reports through HES of certain stores reporting over 200 preorders specific to that store.

It would be safer to preorder as a second batch of games may not arrive until Christmas, but obviously thats up to the individual, especially if you want to rent it first to try it out.

Its not necessarily to late to get your order in for the first batch. Reatilers still have time to increase their orders with HES.

I've already pre ordered mine - (it was a fathers day pressie) but others in NZ might be interested to know if the above applies to them as well.
