it can because I say it can. I am the law...

Just kidding, but I sure as hell am not going to change it. If you have the power to change it, you may do so if you wish.

troll them
ignore them
smile and nod

depends on who/how annoying they are

Dad can be pretty f**king annoying tbh, he likes the sound of his own voice

I had this strategy with one of my colleagues, on the days I didn't feel like talking to her I'd bring up a controversial issue we really didn't agree on. This worked wonders as she would say, you know we don't agree on that and if we talk about it, we will both just get fired up.

With my manager I would just talk about all the calories and macronutrients in different types of food. She liked eating whatever she wanted, and hated that talk.

I told him to f**k off one day but he's like a cockroach (In size, looks and in persistence).

One thing I do pretty well is wind him up, but he either has no idea about it, or thinks im laughing with him, not at him.

I worked with one of these for years. Would pay no attention and he would still stand there and talk, after a while he would say "you don't care do you" and i would respond with "no i don't" and then he would continue on..

To the point honesty didn't work

He never ever caught on that i was taking the p*ss and was laughing at him not with him and it was only that he was more or less forced out of the company that it stopped..

And even now i still get emails from him that he sends from where he works now.
