I felt today was pretty much a do or die game for our season, and like last year at sunny leichhardt against souths we shot ourselves in the foot again. So where to now from here? I think the time has come for some major changes in the team, time for the young guys to get a shot and the usual suspects to be punted but we know it wont happen. We have to do something more drastic than what were doing at the moment to get this team more motivated to win.is this the answer? all i know is that if we keep playing the same style of footy we do and show no passion in D then we are going nowhere fast. botttom 4 is all i can see im afraid.

We are pathetic.

No heart, no balls, no commitment, no passion.

Same old mistakes, same old rubbish. Yet nothing will be done, no changes will be made and here we are going to miss another finals series in a sh1t comp.

PATHETIC.

This is gonna sound weird but i think we need to finish near last or last to see anything change in the joint,every time we just miss the eight it seems like we say oh well we came close well give it another go next year, its just not acceptable any more.

The Tigers always make things convenient by allowing us to know precisely when to book the end of season trip. Hmmm this time I'd love to get to Syria and Jordan! Imagine supporting a competitive side and having to worry about whether or not to stick around in September. We, on the other hand, are spared of all the stress :D

frustrating to see the Tigers go into this mid-season slump.

They desperately need Payton back on the park. I still think they can make the playoffs if they get some big guys upfront back on the field.

They are the best side to watch in the comp. Hopefully with Hodgson, Marshall, Head, and Farah playing behind a more dominant pack in weeks to come they can push for a top 6 spot.

Who are you going to blame today ??? Shannon McDonnell didn`t play, John Morris hardly saw any game time and Ben Te`o was already benched when the game was there to be won. We have massive problems, much more in depth than most on here would like to admit !!!

Not convinced that Payto and Galloway can remedy the situation, which has been ongoing for some time. Bad enough that Sheens is still apparently tinkering with experimental "next Cronks" and "next Thurstons" etc, but the defence is truly woeful. Not just so-and-so falling off or missing tackles. The whole shebang. It was obvious in the first(?) set from the Warriors that it was going to be another 20 to 30 points against scoreline, with Tigers having to push the envelope to outscore by 2 points. As soon as the opposition start to go wide, the Tigers line falls apart, relying on a big effort from someone in pursuit. Whatever it is that Simmons is doing, he should not be getting paid for it.

Its an attitude thing across the entire 17 that take the field, you would swear blind at 16 nil after 25mins the boys had something better to do than play footy today there body language was so poor.

Definately an unhappy camp, no unity whatsoever. The only way to give certain players the wake up call they deserve is to drop them. Plenty of regulars are simply not performing and should be back in the State Cup next week, we need an injection of new blood, much the same as what we did back in `2005 and much the same as what most other clubs in particular the Panthers are doing at the moment !

Well you only have to look at souths to see what the injection of a few new faces to the team at the expense of some seasoned fg regulars has done to there recent fortunes, taylor stuck with these guys long enough and then grew tired of it and bit the bullet we should follow suit.

It's the same thing year in, year out with the Tigers. Easily a top-eight roster, promising start, mid-season capitulation, just miss out on the eight.

Oh, and Tim Sheens is still a master coach, despite the Nuremberg of evidence suggesting otherwise (38%, one final series etc...)

true

its an attitude problem.
we've always had a side that could make it yet we dont
the club has never recovered from that McCracken tackle and it shows no sign of doing so
The worst part is that really, if you step back and take a look at it, we are a top 4 side. Hodgo, Lawrence, Collis, Marshall, Head, Farah, Heighington, Galloway, Payten... these guys are all quality that would sh*t all over other sides

yet, for another year, it just doesn't happen
*cries*

I know its a frustrating time right now especially after that tragic loss yesterday... but come on lets not get to down we are still only 1 win out of the 8 ! I really think we have missed Galloway & Payten more then anybody gives them credit for, with them both back for the next game and a nice draw for the next month if we can string some wins together the season is far from lost.

I always like to look at the positive side of thigns :)

Teo hopefully being dropped is a positive.

One thing i must ask though, why the hell was Dane Laurie used as a dummy runner the entire time he was on the field especially when we were 10 out from the line... give the big bastard the ball for god sake and let him crash over. I dont know why he was used the way he was.

Oh and i feel sorry for Hodgo, it certainly wasnt his fault at the end there.

The buck stops with the coaching staff.

They have to change something, you can't rely on scoring 2 tries and sideline conversions in the final 5 mintues every week.

It has to come down to defense. Gang tackling and having the opposition still easily offload is not good.

Funny- 2 weeks ago, I was down on the players (well, some of them) but as the fortnight has progressed and I've been listening to what has been said here and on other forums and in the papers etc by the WT's coaching staff and players I've turned my sights on to the coaching staff, not the players- they can only be resoiobsle for what goes on on the field at the time but everyting up to then is the coaching staff:

for example

* games with player retention (Head)
* woeful attack
* woeful defence
* same old, same old plays time after time, no spark, nothing new
* playing favourites with selection

Lets open up the coaching jobs for next year and make Sheens & co justify what they have done up to now, and provide a plan for the future in competiton with other coaching aspirants out there. The new WT's management wiht new CEO have a perfect opportunity to see what other options are out there.

In all honesty I think Gibbs has lifted his game somewhat since coming back. Heighington is always consistently solid, Fulton does a fair bit of Defence without providing much in attack, Hodgson is busting his arse to get the team moving, Benji is trying too hard and in turn, playing worse. Lawrence is focussing so much on defence that he's forgotten how to attack (A typical Sheens ploy), now his defence is starting to go downhill again. Tuiaki is only just now starting to get involved. Te'o is a f**king passenger. Piss him off to reggies now. Harrison, Payne, Galea offer nothing from the bench. They aren't big, they aren't powerful runners, nor are they decent ball players anymore. Morris has actually improved over the last few weeks, which has been in direct contrast to Head's form.

We're an absolute mess.

2006 2007 now 2008, things just keep going the same way. I would have thought mid 2007 when the wheels started to come off again, Sheens would have started a plan to turn things around. Pencil down our short commings and start a plan to turn things around. Yes I know easy thing to do, not so easy to achieve anything but from what I have seen this year the place has gone backwards.

Sorry Tim but time to take your little mate and buz off. Your stale and the teams stale. Why not go to the ESL and take a big golden handshake and let another person try and get something going in tigertown. Might not work but we have to try something just cant keep going the way we are

Its funny how we all agree almost 100% on who is letting the side down week in and out but the coaching staff just seem to turn a blind eye to it and continue picking these duds, i think the board need to step in here and put sheens and simmons on notice for the remainder of the season. enough is enough, every team have injuries this is just a weak argument for mine deflecting blame as usual.
