Five players have been dropped in the wake of last Friday night's loss to St George Illawarra - John Morris, Adam Dykes, Junior Langi, Chris Muckert and Fui Fui Moi Moi. Back-rower Dean Widders moves to the centres, Michael Witt gets his chance at five-eighth and NSW Under-19s winger Brett Anderson replaces Matt Petersen, who is out for a week with a shoulder injury. The bench includes potential debutants Jack Afamasago and Feleti Mateo.

LOL, could also be that club reps haven't talked to each other about the excuse for not having Petersn in the team as well.

Good i hope Petersen stays out too,but then again you have alot of sideshow bob lovers on here who want him back in the team like back in Round 3 when he missed the game against Newcastle and was picked 1st up for the game against Canberra.

Petersen is the worst winger in comp...He has never offered anything and to think we let go the best winger of 2001 (Scott Donald) and signed this rubbish.

Yeah he offers nothing, that's why he's scored 18 tries for us in 2 dozen games, because he offers nothing. You need a guy like that who's eager to get to the line, doesn't give up on anything and tries his guts out. You can not like him, sure, and there are plenty who don't think much of Petersen, but give him credit where its due, he can score a try and never gives up, something you can't say for many others in the 17 last weekend.

He is far from the worst winger in the comp, I could name a dozen who are clearly worse than him without even thinking. Heck, there are a few worse than him in our squad, Kativerata being the most obvious. You may not like him, but that doesn't mean you can just write him off as rubbish when he's done a heck of a lot for our side over the last two seasons, and you certainly can't call him the worst winger going around.

I'm no Side Show lover and he may not have all the skills but he does have a go and seems to play with alot of ticker which is more than alot of other players at the moment.

agreed - Petersen gives it his all and deserves a lot of credit in some of the games where half the team has deadset turned it up.

his game has some problems, no question. defensive frailties and positioning and giving away stupid penalties are the areas that spring to mind and for all of this i reckon he deserves a stint in the Reggies, but you gotta give the guy some kudos for his hard work in hitting the ball up when his forwards have gone to sleep...

18 tries in two dozen games big freakin woop.
Scott Donald scores 2 tries a game pretty much,A far better winger then that Sideshow idiot.

Donald has scored how many this year? Unlike last year Scotty hasn't scored too many either. Though I do believe that Donald is a better winger there isn't a lot between them.

Neither Sideshow or Donald are top shelf wingers. Hopefully Burt does the job this weekend and it will solve this empty wing position.

So fikken what how many tries Peterson has scored.......those try's could have been scored by any player or person in his position.

How many times have you seen Peterson run 80 metres to win us a game??

How many times have you seen him race 50 metres to save a try??

How many times have you seen him let in tries??

How many times have you seen him out pace a player??

This is the worst winger in the NRL at present, has no size, no speed, no tackling skills etc.

His try's have hardly been scored through bouts of individual brillance, they where soft tries that anyone who happened to be in the same position would have scored.

And last but not least, if Peterson was on the open market.....do you honestly think a top club or any club for that matter would sign him....f**k no!!!

So if Peterson scores more try's in a year then Grothe......does that make him a better winger......look at both and it speaks for itself.

(1) Is a winger running 80 metres to win a match the only measure of a truly great winger?

(2) On a few occassions - naming one, V Cowboys @ Parra in '03, where a Cowboy made a break and he came from nowhere, chased him down and tackled him into tough.

(3) OK, he's let in a few tries. But how many times has he been left by Langi marking the centre AND the winger?

(4) He isn't the fastest player, but he's not as slow as you say he is.

(5) Grothe is hardly a winger anyway; he's a huge guy with awesome strength who scores a few good tries, britalises his opponents and goes to sleep in defence.

HOW MANY TIMES HAS GROTHE DROPPED EASY BOMBS? For a bloke who's nearly 2 metres tall, he should be great at that. ANd yet Muzz, who is shorter and less skilful, is a better player in the air.
