Im a big Metal gear fan. I haven't played computer games much for the last few years (i never thought getting older would do that to me but it has) so i cant comment on recent games but i consider the original Metal Gear to be the best game ive ever played.

So i'll be sure to dust away the cobwebs and buy MGS4...even if it means having to play it at my brothers house as he's the only one with a PS3.

I've no doubt it will be worth it as every installment of the series has been well worth playing so far.

Hopefully the gameplay in MGS4 has actually moved on.

The fixed camera in MGS3 was disgraceful for a game that was released in 2004.

Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 was the best in the series imo...Loved every minute of it and the replay value was great...

I think I beat MGS at least 20 times back in 2000.

Tried to play it again last year... but everytime I face Psycho Mantis the merkin freezes !

Theres been speculation about 90 min cut-scenes in MGS4. EGM are refusing to review it because of limitations placed on them by Konami preventing them from talking about it.

To recap: Konami are imposing restrictions on what publications can and cannot talk about when reviewing Metal Gear Solid 4. No mention of 90-minute cutscenes please, and while you're at it, no talky-talky about install sizes either, K? IGN are cool with that. EGM, refreshingly, are not. Due to "limitations Konami wanted to impose on our comments", the editorial team decided to refrain from giving the game a score, and in lieu of a "review" posted a lengthy roundtable discussion about the game instead. It's hardly a gloved fist on an Olympic dias, but it is nice seeing somebody do something about such an...unsavoury practice

MGS4 has apparently picked up a perfect score from Famitsu (a Japanese magazine), only 7 other games have done this

MGS4 will be epic.

Even the "lower" games in the series, MGS2 and Snake Eater, were bloody epic. The end to Snake Eater still gets me to this day. And MGS was bloody brilliant.

Can't wait.

Isn't it "over 90 mins of cut scenes" that you can't skip not one 90 minute cut scene.

If they ever break away from Sony exclusivity I might try it, never owned a Sony system and I wouldn't buy one just for it, no matter how high it scores.
