We own a casino that operates 7 days a week 9am-6am.

I think that Max knows his shit when it comes to $$$.

If we can't get a paid sponsor for the finals, I'd like to see us donate the front of our jerseys to a charity - maybe Ronald McDonald House - so at least some good can come from it

Parramatta Eels willing to give sponsor NRL finals spotlight if the price is right
Parramatta will consider immediately plastering a major sponsor on the front of their jersey for their fairytale finals run if the right company is prepared to commit to the club long term.

The Eels are the sentimental favourites for the coming play-offs after qualifying for the first time since their 2009 grand-final appearance. Brad Arthur's team has rebounded from last year's salary cap scandal to finish in the top four after Friday night's win against South Sydney, booking a blockbuster clash with Melbourne next weekend.

The club is on the rise after producing an exciting brand of football that has them primed as genuine premiership contenders. The blue and golds have marketable game-breakers in the likes of Corey Norman, Mitchell Moses, Bevan French and Semi Radradra and will have a new home stadium in time for the 2019 season.

However, Parramatta are still without a major sponsor and are embroiled in a legal stoush with their former backer, Dyldam. Officials are looking for a backer to take the prime real estate on the front of the jersey for next season and beyond, although an opportunity exists if the right company jumped onto the bandwagon immediately.

The Eels are guaranteed to progress to at least the second week of the finals even if they lose to the Storm, giving prospective partners an opportunity to align brands during the biggest games of the year. Such a relationship would give prospective sponsors valuable exposure if they were prepared to commit longer term.

"We are looking to do something for 2018-19, but if we can tag on something in the back end of this year through the play-offs, then we would certainly entertain it," Eels chief executive Bernie Gurr said.

"Save for Panthers pipping us on junior numbers, we are are the biggest franchise in western Sydney on every metric.

"We've got a large and loyal membership base and when you look at media readership, social media or the like, we move the needle. We are an outstanding proposition."

we need to learn from the pirtek debacle and pick the right sponsor not some control freak company who will come in changing everything
And obviously the more picky we are about what we want from a sponsor (including price) the fewer potential sponsors exist, and thus the longer we should expect to go without a sponsor. If we dropped our standards we could have a sponsor tomorrow.

You should also have realistic expectations and not assume you are the Manchester United of the NRL.

How do you know what their expectations are?
I doubt they see themselves as highly as Manchester United, considering that's a sporting franchise that brings in hundreds of millions of dollars every year, and we are being kept afloat by our Leagues Club.

But if we are in a position where we can hold out for someone of great credibility and a well-known brand, then that's fine with me.

It's just an expression and the way I speak. No need to take my words literally FFS.

In terms of sponsor appeal, you would say Broncos are the glamour team who gets great tv coverage and generally do well consistently ... but after that who is the most appealing to potential sponsors?

Melbourne are a top team, but less of a following

I dont think there is any standout

If we had performed moderately well over the past decades we would be right up there ... but we are coming from a bit behind the 8 ball now

I think at this stage potential sponsors would want some proof that we (as a club) will be keeping our noses clean. 2016 was just last year, so I can understand why nobody was in a hurry to throw money at us this year in exchange for us tarnishing their reputation.

You can't blame the big end of town being nervous about us. If it was my decision, I would be waiting at least for the 13 September vote to ensure that constitution is changed.

Except the NRL club (Parra Eels) is not impacted by the 13ths vote.
The PNRL Consitution has already been amended and is in force.

PLC proposed constitutional change seems pretty important. Doesn't PLC own the team ? Tell me that would not matter if Fitzy or Spags snaked their way back in. Or am I missing something?

Do they really care ... they would undoubtedly have out clauses for any shenanigans ... i think Max and Bern have valued us high and nrl sponsorships just arent as easy to come by these days

How many NRL teams have a truely high profile sponsor? ... Cows, Broncos .... Sharks won a premiership and are sponsored by nuffies

PLC owns the team, yes. And some of the changes are definitely important for the PNRL however the PNRL is now protected better as far as its own governance and controls, board, etc by its own constitution.
