Anybody know how the situation with Sheens is going?

Whats happening with Sheens? Looks like he has no intention of moving on or out. If that is the case I reckon WT might as well bite the bullet and p*** him off and see him in court to fight over what is remaining. He is the Australian NRL coach he does have another source of income but why wouldn't the bugger want to sit on his backside somewhere in the bowels of WestsTigers land and get his weekly pay packet for doing nothing. We may as well bring it to a head and see the last of him.

By being stubborn has only hurt is chances of being employed elsewhere so he clings on desperately.
No other club will touch him now.

He is going well. Earning a cool couple of hundred grand whilst going to the pub each day and having a drink.

Laughing too no doubt...every day

WTs painted themselves into a corner

We are fcked here

Not much to laugh about. He is unemployable now in the NRL.
The way he has dug his heals in at the Tigers will set precedent on what not to do.

Don't sign a coach on long term deals, just look what happened for a decade at WT.
Players get too comfy and accept mediocrity.

He has got a contract to say that he will be paid until the end of 2014...

It would be laughed out of court...

He was never going to coach NRL again regardless I feel.

Clubs are all too aware of what he did first at the Cowboys and then Wests Tigers in terms of toxic culture.

There'll be some club desperate enough to sign him in a few years time. Probably Parra or the Warriors.

Being in his 60s I highly doubt the prospect of not being able to coach at another NRL club really phases Sheens. It's not his problem that the board was so incompetent that they felt obliged to sign him up to such a lucrative deal. I blame the board for this debacle more than I blame Sheens. He's still the Australian coach, and will hold the job until England or NZ win a major tournament final against him.

I blame Sheens - he said he would go if we went crap and we went crap. He should have walked.

Telegraph reporting today that the Sheenius has put an offer to the board for a payout to end his contract.

Probably means the wily old coot has plans to return to the NRL next year.

Penrith with Sheens, Soward and Marshall ? Nowhere on earth is big enough to fit those ego's ha ha

Dont forget Gus has the biggest ego than that lot combined.

I think it's plausible. Sheens loves Penrith and Cleary isn't getting the job done.
I'm tipping Sheens to go there and Marshall gets his beloved dad back and Gus can stroke his own ego in having the Australian coach and his marketing tool in Benji.

I'd be seriously surprised if Gus thinks Sheens is the right man for the job. Surely Gus can see the state Sheens has left us in and wouldn't want him anywhere near Penrith considering the effort he has gone to getting them to rebuild.

Sheens has had ample time to settle but refused stubbornly so why now? I'm thinking he has another offer pending his release.
He could easily sit on his hands and keep getting paid.
