Anybody know why Thorman didnt play?

Just wondering if anyone knows why Thorman didnt play in the England A team in the final of the Euro Nations Cup? Surely based on recent form, he would have been picked!?

Dont tell me he is injured already!!!! :roll:

i wish Parra would sign some more british players, I think that Jamie Peacock and Stuart Fielden would be great assests. Give them a couple of seasons in the NRL and they will shine just like Morley.

i predict thorman will start an influx of pommie players, as i outlined in the parra forum some monthsback, if he does remotley well [plays at least most games on or off the bench] it will encourage the other players who are literally too frightened to come here ,fail ,go back home and be unwanted or replaced . they have a great paypacket at home ,comming to aust may jepardise this and they are not willing to risk it, just as you and i are not willing to change for eg trades, stay in a comfort zone as it were, but after being beaten by a virtual 'b' side [no offence to any of the test players] they may have no choice i think thoman will be a huge asset if bs gives him a go and he remains injury free

He didnt play bcos the coach likes danny mcguire. Fielden and peackock have expressed there interest in playing in australia when there curent contracts are up which is at the end of the forth coming season.

I think that would be the more likely scenario.

He is probably on standby for the third test, after his performance for the A Team.

Perhaps on the bench, maybe.

I seriuosly doubt that. DW has made it perfrectly clear throughout this test series that he would only call up and England A player if injury forced him to (thus proving his ineptitude as a coach yet again ). I suspect Thorman had picked up a knock and with England A having plenty of quality in that position, they decided not to risk him.

Fielden went extremely well up front in the 3rd test, and got over Webcke & Kearns/Civoneciva for mine. Young talent with plenty of time on his side.

Funny, though, I thought the last 'why didn't they promotet him' post in 2003 would have been about Steve Witt. Maybe the budding sel;ectors among us are in pre season training already!
