Legend, there are a few Linux distributions aimed at the workstation market. Moff, for what you say I reckon it might be worth you taking a look at. For me personally I tend toi use my PC for multimedia applications and gaming so windows (2000 is my preference) as I wouldn't be able to get half of the apps for any other OS.
