Are the people at sportstab idiots?

Well about 150 to 20 think Head is better.

If you think what forumites think doesn't mean jack what are you doing here DH? Reading your own posts?
Where did I ever say Morris was better than Head? I just don't see how it's relevant to the discussion. As I never mentioned Morris, nor Head's attacking ability.

You could have compared Head to a bloke in SG Ball in that poll and it would have had the same relevance to this discussion. Zilch.

All I talked about was Head's ability to stay on the field, which he has a very poor track record. Likewise Benji. Not to mention they're both turnstiles in defence which isn't going to help your existing defensive issues.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Tigers will probably make the 8. But their defence will hurt them in the tight games, and that's the difference between a top 4 side and the rest of the comp.

Well if you go back and read it all again the first bloke said if those 4 are fit the Tigers are a top4 side.

"sting a few games together" I'm sure meant string a few games together.

You asked what's the difference to last year? (but exclude Head?)

Whom I pointed out many think is a major difference alone to last year for the Tigers.

You claimed they had that last year except Head, what's the difference?

How is Marshall spending a year on the sideline different to playing? Umm go figure that one for yourself.

Even with all those players there... They are not a top 4 side.

Do you have trouble reading posts, or do you do it on purpose? Head and Benji are a crucial issue in regards to your defence. I've re-quoted myself so that I won't cover the same ground again and again.

I don't need to go and read it all again. Stringing a few games together is not the same as completing the rest of a season together. That is irrelevant to my point anyway. Benji is not the same player he used to be, but even still that is not the issue yet again. Your defence is, it's one of the worst in the league, irrespective of your attack, adding both Benji and Head into your defensive line will just compound your woes.

Teams like the Titans, Broncos, Storm, Manly, and Roosters are far more likely contenders for the top 4 for this very reason. I can appreciate the Tigers fans thinking they are a genuine shot this year with the acquisition of Head, but the reality is, looking at the stats and the genuine risk of injuries, they are nowhere near as good as their position on the ladder suggests, it's just a matter of time before things go pear shaped.

Are you serious? I would counter-argue that the Tigers defence can not get any worse than it currently is. Very poor, simple 1 on 1 misses. Will these things improve? Time will tell but one thing is for sure, they will not get worse than they already are defensively.

However, the attack will improve.

This illustrates perfectly that the Tigers are in fact as good as their ladder position suggests and it can easilly get better.

I stand by what I say as well. A fit Farah, Hodgson, Head and Marshall will carry the Tigers into the Top 4 in 08, even beyond.

And I stand by that nucleus being far different to what the Tigers were able to field last year.

Even if nuffies can't see any difference or know anything about which players played in 2007 and which players were on the sideline.

Titans still haven't proven themselves away in my opinion. I'll be tipping the home team with Farah back and Matt Head playing okay atm. But still good money on the Titans.

Turncoat Blue bets $700K on QLD

Daniel Sankey | May 21, 2008 -

http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/news/sport/traitor-bets-700k-on-qld/2008/05/21/1211182846146.html

Believe it or not, one New South Welshman will be cheering loudly for Queensland tonight - because's he's risked $700,000 on them for to win a bet worth $1.2 million.
The New South Wales punter snapped up odds of $1.74 with interstate bookmaker Matt Tripp and will be hoping for a dry track tonight so Queensland's outstanding backline can show its full array of skills.
Currently on TAB Sportsbet, Queensland is a $1.65 favourite, with New South Wales at relatively juicy odds of $2.20, especially considering their home ground advantage.
Storm winger Israel Folau, making his State of Origin debut for Queensland, is TAB Sportsbet's $9.00 favourite to be the match's first tryscorer, ahead of fullbacks Billy Slater (Queensland, $10.00), Brett Stewart (New South Wales, $10.00) and Maroons centre Greg Inglis ($10.00).
In contrast to previous years, the traditional bet between the Queensland and New South Wales State Premiers has taken on a different format.
Previously, the winning team's flag was flown on the other state's bridge (Storey or Sydney Harbour). This year, the losing Premier will be forced to hang in their office a signed jersey from the opposition team.

I remember a similar thing happening when the Titans played the Drags in Round 2. The Titans were coming off a good win against the Cows and the Drags were terrible against the Tigers. The Drags were favs with sportstab and everyone was saying get on the Titans. The Dragons came out and gave them a hammering.

I think the Titans will win this one, but it's not a sure thing.

Nothing is a sure thing in footy as Singo found out last night!!!!

I'm a fully blown moron because I disagree that the tigers are a top 4 side?

Do you disagree with me that they have one of the worst defensive lines in the game? Would you disagree with me that adding both Head and Benji into that line is also more likely to yield more points for your opposition.

Your attack will improve drastically, there is no question. I never said it wouldn't. But you don't see many top 4 sides winning all their games 40-30, your attack will win you games, but your defence will cost you the crucial close ones that are the difference between the top 4 and the rest of the competition.

Tigers defence is not top 4 material irrespective of how good your attack is. Eventually you'll run into sides that will shut down your attack, and the tigers really don't have a setup capable of grinding out wins IMO.

If me standing by my opinions of a side, even though some idiotic tigers fan gets his panties in a knot because I don't share his same high views of his side, makes me a moron. Then so be it.

yeah I saw those odds and salivated but not prepared to risk it with the tigers lineup looking good, playing at home and with mat rogers who can be error prone coming back in for gold coast

Titans are $2.40 best odds, Tigers $1.65. So if you think the Titans are better than a 41.67% chance of winning, they are good odds. If you think the Tigers are better than a 60.6% chance of winning, then $1.65 are good odds.

I wouldn't be putting my money on a Titans team travelling that's for sure.
