We showed some grit today, we played good enough to beat a team who had won 3 games in a row.

Second Game of KK and Morts, and second half kicking game was way up on what it has been and robson was good again at number 9.

They are slowly getting there, hopefully next week we show up with the second half performance and play for the whole 80 minutes and the result will work out ...

Glimpses of what our second phase can do and once we get into the groove we are going to trouble teams.

Kick Chase in the second half, Pressure on the ball players and matching a solid forward pack we were allot better ...

Ball handling needs to improve but that will happen ... needs to improve on the 1% again this week but the win will help with the confidence ...

Souths were that awful in the 1st half (as were parra) that it felt like they may have boosted Parra's confidence enough to show some glimpses of last years late form in the 2nd half ......not back by a long shot but winning breeds confidence .....

We were better today, errors and penalties need to stop but we were better.

Just a side note on Souths being terrible, yeah they were, but last year we made teams look bad. Gaba and to a point Gus, say that "teams helped us along the way" but I think our defence last year really buggered alot of teams out and I think today a similar thing happened.

Its a two way thing, a team will play bad for a reason.

Agree 100%. Plenty of the Souths errors yesterday were forced by some punishing Parra defence, in particular from Tahu who smashed several Bunnies. Putting it all down to them playing crap is a cop out. Our kicking game was also the best all season, and our chase was even better. That put plenty more pressure on Souths than we have been applying all year, and the results came.

i missed the game unfortunatley. Good to hear the eels won. i saw mortimer and burts trys on fox sports news, looked like a good game. then gus was going off at the refs, rightfully so, the two sinbinnings were a joke.

Burts try reminds me of last year when he did the same thing against the panthers. we were high in confidence then and were on our run. i believe we arent too far away from that form, but i wont get cocky. cowboys this friday then bulldogs the friday after i think? looking foward to it.

Yeah but in the first half Souths didn't need us to make them look bad at all, they did that all by them selves. ;-)

Does anyone know if Fui is playing injured? It maybe just me, but, he doesnt look like he is run at the line with the im going to run through anything attitude he had last year? (I read somewhere, that he was playing with a dodgy hammy, earlier in the year). Maybe he has been told not to go so hard so early?

I'm far from being an expert of physics and sports injuries but i wouldn't imagine that it would be the type of injury you'd muck around with for a big bloke.

Has Hayne overcome his sternum injury? it seems he's taken a bit longer to play the ball in the last few games when he's been hit hard.

The chase effort in the second half I think is the main reason we won yesterday. It was brilliant. Thats commitment, thats team effort, that was the Parra of old.

The chase makes the kick, always.

Been like that all year. Only reason we havent won, let alone compete is because of our errors and penalties.

Once they stop, and our defence stays strong and we continue to support our forwards up the middle, it will click.

To tell you the truth Tezza, I don't think that our defense has been that good. In my opinion it has been ok, to bad, to terrible, and then brilliant at times. This I attribute to our speed of line, it has been very ordinary in both offense and defense. Even last week we only came good in the second half after Souths virtually served the game to us on a platter.

But in saying all that who knows they may surprise me and come good as the season moves on. One thing for certain if they are in the fair dinkum department on Friday they should put at least 30 points on this Cowboys outfit.
