After seeing the increasing amount of games played on the other side of the world ( at least for us Antipodeans) does anybody sometimes wish they were there to see the Euro Cup / Mediterranean Cup/ World Club Challenge etc ? I hope the British RL fans realise how lucky they are !!!

When was the last time a developing nation with players from their domestic comp played in Australia against representative opposition ?

It's my understading that England are the only country having regular internationals because they are the only nation willing to organise/host them. The ARL need to pull their finger out and take on some of the workload.

Same here. I get the impression from reports in mags like League Weekly that only the RFL is willing to put up the cash neccessary to get the show on the road.

Don't forget the scarf and the big coat. I'm just watching my neighbour scrape the frost off his windscreen. ;-)

As an Aussie who's been living in the UK for the past 2 years, I can honestly tell you that if it's quality League your after, then stay in Oz.

You really can't think your missing out on anthing by not seeing the World club challenge??, It's just an excuse to give the Reserves a run and for the players to hit the piss for a week.

Ive also been to a few London Bronco's and Bradford games and neither have been anything to write home about.

In saying this, I havent given up hope in seeing a good game over here, so Im going to the Aus v Eng A game on Tues. Hopefully I'll have some word eating to do on Wed. We'll see!

It's not so much the quality but the access to variety of International flavour that I would'nt mind having access to. Watching the same three teams (OZ/NZ/GB)is getting a bit boring, so watching a basic game between France and Wales would be a treat.

Slightly off the subject.

If it's variety your after, I'd recommend going down to one of the decent local League's club's and watching some of their games. They quite often even have a few ex first grader's (not usually the best first grader's mind you) These games can be seriously physical and if you go to more than a few games your bound to see a few decent biffo's too.

I believe that purely from an 'Entertainment' point of view you cant go past The local A grade (Top level of local Footy in Sydney) clash. Men of all shapes and skills trying to mould together.

Go the local footy.

i'm goin to england for a gap year in a couple of years and can't wait. the london broncos look alright.

I'll probably get slaughtered for saying this on a RL forum, but scrap the League in the UK and go to a few Premiership matches. The atmosphere fantastic, like nothing Ive experienced at any other live sport's events (and I hated soccer before coming over here).

Who in their right mind would leave the sunshine of Australia for the dreary weather of England. Not even footy is worth that.

I can see you've done a lot of travelling  .

I've been to 17 countries in the past 2 years and the only way I could have done that is to live and work UK.

It sure beat's the hell out of spending 2 weekends in the caravan park at forster for your holidays.

Australia is great, but my point is that there are hundred's of other places out there that are equally as fantastic in completly different ways.

I pitty narrow minded people like you who will never experience this.

They should bring back the Lions tour as well.

Australia v Wales should be VERY competitive, as will the Roo Tour. Even the game against the French Selection was a close scoreline.
