I'm not here to bag the S&^t out of him but alot of people on here really rate Ash Graham. Personally I dont rate him. I have never seen him do anthing special. Yes I know he has had injuries but even still in all the games Ive seen him play he just hasnt done a thing.

What do others think. When does his contract end??????

He was re-signed to a new two year deal at the start of the year.

Up until his injury last year I thought he was one of our better players especially for a 19 year old.

Picked up 9 tries last year and made some spectacular breaks when he was moved into the number 1 jumper late in the year. He runs the ball back straight and hard, supports the ball carrier and puts his body on the line.

He made some mistakes the other night but he got in and had a go which is more than can be said for the centres we have had for most of the year.

Good player, but his defence is very ordinary, doesnt aim up well in defence and gets caught out wide. He's better on the wing, I guess the only thing he did put that blinder of a pass to Eric Grothe to put him in the clear.

But Graham needs to work on his defence.

Where to start?

* He runs the ball back hard

* Has strong defence

* Has agility and pace

* Has strength

* Great attitude

* Passion

And all this, bear in mind, at the ripe old age of 19. He's yet (IMO) to find his feet in First Grade - and he's impressed me.

I still am waiting for him to impress me. And by the looks of it I might be waiting a while. His defence is not good and I forgot he was even playing friday night.

Potentially he could be an answer to our centre problem but the coaching staff have to decide whether or not we are sliding or coming up and in in defence as Graham was doing the later and most of the others were sliding, put Ben Smith in the centres with him and lets have another baby Eels side running around with some passion in the blue and gold jersey

He didnt do much at all in 2002 but i thought last year he really went at Fullback,I'd keep him there,i rate him higher then Hodgson and as Half said he isnt a big crybaby like Hodgson was.

At 19, it's too early to call. He lacked pace on Saturday Night, but the centres are not as easy to spot gaps from as fullback.

Either way, with McKinnon thinking he's Greame Langlands at the mo, Ash isn't going to be fullback for a while.

I can recall many forumites bagging Ash early in his 1st grade career, however I have always had an opinion of him.
Don't worry about Ash he can play.

PS: One of the best passing actions in the line you will ever see!!!!

Ash is the type of player the club needs. It will take him time to make up the ground lost due to his horrific injury.

Imagine breaking your leg in 3 places and then first game back trying to take an intercept. Come on give the guy a break. Pardon the pun.

Very good player scored 2 tries for NSW under 19's in 2002 (as a just turned 17 year old) went on the make his 1st grade debut later that year v Warriors in NZ.

Sturggled in 2002 but was only 17 so it could have been excused.

Really came into his own in 2003 for the 1st time in a long time Parra had a defensivly sound fullback who ran FORWARD in kick returns rather then looking like a 70's disco star (eg Schifcofske) or softer then a McDonalds cone (eg Hodgson).

I think he is better suited to fullback but with McKinnon playin as well as he is then you couldn't really push WAde out and Ash is more then capable at centre.

Barring injury or a major drop in confidence/form Graham WILL play for Queensland within the next 3 seasons.
