There seems to be more hype around Moylan making the move to the halves then there has been any other player in a long time for us.

Brandy seems excited by this halves pairing. The fans are excited. But it took an injury to Cartwright and for TMM to have done something that pissed the coach and/or team off to make it happen.

If the move was made 12 months ago instead of Cartwright... Moylan would have a years experience at 6, finals experience, a combination with Cleary and an off season training there.

I think he would have kept his Origin jersey aswell. Although i would rather we had no Origin players. We need all hands on deck for Panthers. Being disrupted through Origin could kill our season entirely. But if we can sneak a bunch of wins through this period we can be back in finals contention.

Didn't they try it in a trial match? No idea why you wouldn't persevere.

Yeah Hook cost Matty 90k haha cheers coach.
Amazing it took so long, it should have been one of the easiest coaching decisions in history. After 2 or 3 games it was clear he was a half

I reckon Griffin was gunshy after his experiences at the Broncos. He played around with halves after Lockyer retired and never really saw the best from any of the combos. Quite likely that was his coaching though. Because as soon as Norman left he looked good at 5/8, and when Bennett arrived Hunt looked good at 7.

Let's just hope Griffin lets Moylan play his natural game, that's when he's at his most effective.

For a half only.

Seemed like it was more a numbers exercise. If Griffin truly believed in Moylan at 5/8 he would've played him there before Cartwright.

Last year we heard the excuse that he wanted "minimal disruption" to the team. Hence he slotted Cartwright in at 5/8, but what's the excuse this year when we were travelling poorly? Disruption was hardly going to hurt us.

I find it hard to believe that the 18th man in the Blues squad doesn't get paid.
Anyway to follow on from the above heart warming photo, here's an SBS article on Brandy's involvement.

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2017/06/02/moylan-can-make-lockyer-change-brandy

2 key takeaways from that.

1. Brandy will be doing this regularly a couple of times a week. That's awesome.

2. Brandy said Moylan is excited about the move, of course Moylan would say that in a direct quote but it's good to hear from a secondary one. I'm sure he knew he was a 5/8.

Hunt was actually better in 2014 then he was in 2015 IMO. Griffin f**ked him around a bit benching him and all that. But in 2014 he was terrific. 2015 he was no better and since that grand final he has steadily gone backwards.

Hunt played 3 games for Australia under Hook. Only player I think he did a better job with than Bennett.

He screwed Norman and Hoffman around. Ruining both fullback and 5/8th while there. Same as he has done with us.
