Here's to Whare: may he never play fullback again.

Stoked to have them both next year. We're looking like a damn good side.

And credit to Simmo - he's tapped a few back too for tries. Definitely playing above and beyond all expectations.

My clubman of the year - Plummy a close second. Both playing far better than they have any right to.

Good on him. Best haircut in the NRL. And he's never talked about joining Union/AFL/Brisbane.

He's Luke Burt in pink.

Sensational winger with a solid well rounded game.
As others have said Whare has been the key. Outside of Penrith fans he hasn't got much attention but has been a top 5 centre this year. Great defence, outstanding flick pass and has very few weaknesses.

He's not.

But f**k me, he can finish a try.

yep.

I don't know why he seems to be so disliked, but he appears to have started putting it together recently. Kind of like Beau Ryan's revival a year (or perhaps two) ago

I also like Richard Simmons.

Cleary is a fine coach and gets the best out of his players. I firmly believe that Penrith will win a title in the next 3 years.

Maybe the sharks fans who rated him higher than Inglis were right?
There was only one, so sharks fan.

And yes it took 100 odd games but Simmo is NRL quality winger this season.

Good for him, I remember when he and Merritt were our wingers. Both were young and did not perform well for us.

Pretty amazing effort for him to be the leading try scorer at this point of the season, in a team tipped for the wooden spoon pre-season and suffering a lot of injuries throughout the year.

David Simmons > Nathan Merritt.

Absolutely disgraceful that he can play in a team that topped the NRL ladder for most of the season, still sits in second and is not even int he top 5 try scorers.

Actually just looking at the stats leaderboards, and Dean Whare is sitting in equal first at the moment for linebreak assists. He has helped create 16 linebreaks. Mitchell Pearce is equal, but given he plays tonight he will probably go out to the lead on his own. Thurston is sitting in 3rd with 15 linebreak assists, and Cronk and Johnson round out the top 5 sitting on 13 assists.

Dean Whare:
21 Games Played
4 tries
7 Try Assists
6 Line Breaks
16 Linebreak Assists (equal first)
201 runs for 1857m gained
16 offloads
290 tackles for 45 missed
9 errors

David Simmons:
21 games played
19 tries
7 Try Assists
25 Linebreaks (second in NRL)
1 Linebreak Assist
259 runs for 2433m gained
14 offloads
152 tackles for 27 missed
17 errors

Both players form improved in Round 7 when Whare moved to centre. Wish we had started the season out with this combination.

Apparently he's looking at becoming a pastor once he retires.

.....although I'm sure I saw him say C*UNT when Manu scored that 1 try against them in the Rd 11 hiding.

Haha must of been a misread Simmo doesn't drop C bombs.

I read somewhere he is the team Pastor or something like that, around the time that cowboys player passed who was close with Segeyaro.
