Probably your best player tonight, along with Ferguson, Seu Seu and Tupou.

Given Maitua is gone, I presume Douglas is going to play in the second row.

Do you guys think Vea will get big minutes from now on? Looked likely tonight, and scored 27 tackles + 10 hitups off the bench which was impressive.

Anyone think he'd be a decent pickup for virtually nothing in VNRL?

Edit: Just figured that Williams will probably shift back to the second row and Wright or someone will come into the centres. Which leaves Douglas in the front row and Vea with limited minutes behind Douglas and Snowden. Ah well.

With Gal in SOO next week he should get some game time to prove himself.

I thought he was our only forward who tried to bend the line.

FFs our best prop on the field is Gallen!!!

Gallen has been playing like a prop for ages, he is busting his a**e every week just trying to get the halves some space to work in. He constantly looks stuffed and we are now missing his offloads and any hope of a passing game because he is so focussed on gaining some yards to get some go forwards , lastly and worst for scoring his following up is dropping off a bit.

Watching the drags on Saturday its easy to see how far Soward is behind the line, he gets time to kick or can see gaps to run through as the defence is not in his face instantly. They can do that because their props bend the defensive line, Manly's props did the same at the Titans yesterday (a better half than Orford would have had a field day with the space they gave him).

We cannot allow our halves to sit as far back as the drags let Soward sit because we are so slow, we are having to go sideways - so that the backs can keep up.

Note left side looked a bit better early on Saturday despite being a rookie and a back rower - note again how despite this the drags went to our right every time - what does that say????

Except for Gall and Toops there is no-one following up so there is no real point in the halves making or faking line breaks.

What do we need:
The props to hit harder - Ross has been criticised but at least he did not slow down when he got a metre off the defensive line (admitedly that does not help his injury issues) - our guys do seem to hit the brakes at the last;
Follow up from FB, second row and centres to drag defenders in;
Fast wide boys who can see the line and get across it.

What don't we need:
Pommeroy (enough said elsewhere)
Covell - worries no-one except in the air and useless on the right ????
Goodwin - showing nothing as yet
Green - ball playing too basic - seems to offer no direction - maybe play Barrett at half and get him to direct play - but who to second receiver??

We can bag Ricky all we like but his task is not easy - we seem to have youngsters not ready and first graders who have lost it or are crocked. That said change is needed.
