This is really good stuff.
This is really good stuff.
doesnt even make sense dickheadVery instructive
I enjoyed the breakdown of the allocation of fantasy points to illustrate the defensive structures
Part 3Where is the part that says to drop Jack bird?
I don't know why there aren't more deep backline plays.
Should hire him to run our video sessions. Still see him in the mall every now and then.Matty has an incredible feel for strategy. Not sure why he cant get a long term gig. I think he plays favourites which polarises out of favour players. But these breakdown videos are cracker jack.
I reckon the defence is just so switched on (and fit) these days that deep backline moves ala the 90's are read too easily. The defence have an age to react as required. What tends to work, and I think Matt might be suggesting is attacking options either side of the ball player very close to the defensive line which are executed at the last moment. This means defenders can be reluctant to commit and end up back peddling (siting in the chair which is a classic Matty Elliot analogy) or are in two minds and commit to the decoy. The sharp ball player will read that and pick the vulnerable defender. It all happens at the line now though.I don't know why there aren't more deep backline plays.
Agree. Hitting holes more like Russell Richardson used too.
This allows the halves to throw a dummy and go... Our current slow sweep plays are easy to kill IMO

I was kidding. Obviously the irony is lost as "more backline plays" seems to be the go to suggestion for armchair coaches. So yeah, good work Arnold.
