A thread to discuss various media around the tournament.
Some questions.
Who is the broadcaster in Aust? As it was agreed to hold the tournament after the media deal had been signed off, I'm hoping someone other than 9 might get it? Although, as NRL sides are involved, can't see this happening.
Will we get full coverage, and will the whole 2 days be on free to air? I remember in the World Sevens, we only got the finals, which was a pity because all the interesting teams (ie from overseas) had generally been knocked out.
Will there be radio coverage in Australia? ABC Grandstand, 2GB?
How much extra is the NRL (if not them, who) getting from the media for this coverage?
As this is, according to big Mal, an advertisement for rugby league, will the tournament be broadcasted overseas? I ope it is given away for free to developing RL countries.
