hmmmmmm thought that was fairly glaring really
and here are the host clubs (no Mt Albert or Northcote ???)
I have some aussie in laws who are over most summers and they always can't believe how hot it feels compared to what the thermometer says
What about qld? It's humid as hell up here? Can't be worse than that can it?
Not trying to have a big-dick contest, I'm just genuinely intrigued by the idea of a day being so humid that 24 degrees is uncomfortable.
I was just reading the auckland 9s wikipedia page to find out the date of it and I noticed it says the clubs will send 12 of the top 24 players and "at least" one "marquee" player?
I can see this being a big case of "where's such and such?" and "who the f is that?" and "you call HIM a marquee player? gtfo". I mean marquee player is open to a lot of interpretation, and I just see a lot of people skipping this.
500 000 is the prize for the winning team, for starters how many people is that money divided between? All staff or the 12 players? And that's just the winning team. What does everyone else get? Nothing?
Most won't consider it worth it.
No it's not THAT much...The money's not THAT big, the lucky winning club will get their money back with some change, yay? and the glory is non-existent.
Lmfao... You are seriously geniused...What about qld? It's humid as hell up here? Can't be worse than that can it?

The NRL's intention to up its profile in New Zealand has taken a step forward with a ground-breaking "grass roots" initiative around the Auckland Nines tournament.
Auckland mayor Len Brown took a welcome break from politics yesterday to announce the community plan involving all 16 NRL clubs partnering up with Auckland Rugby League clubs for the inaugural tournament at Eden Park on February 15-16.
The mayor revealed a schedule which sees the Gold Coast Titans travelling to the Hibiscus Coast Raiders in the north, the Canterbury Bulldogs to the Pakuranga Jaguars in the east, the Melbourne Storm to the Manurewa Marlins in the south and the North Queensland Cowboys to the Glenora Bears in the west.
The teams competing in the Nines will visit their club during the week of the event.
League ambassador Sir Peter Leitch was happy to learn Ivan Cleary's Penrith Panthers had been chosen as the NRL club to visit his Mangere East Hawks. The Panthers have a host of New Zealand players in their ranks including new signing Elijah Taylor plus Lewis Brown, Isaac John and Dean Whare.
The Storm's trip to the southern-most club chosen for the initiative means Manurewa juniors Jesse and Kenny Bromwich could return to their old club.
The Warruiors have been paired with Marist Saints club which has produced several club players including Motu Tony, Jerome Ropati, Sonny Bill Williams and Roy Asotasi.
This year's NRL champions the Roosters have been paired with their Auckland counterparts at Te Atatu.
"To have the stars of our game at local league grounds is huge for grass roots rugby league and I know the clubs want to provide a unique experience for each team," ARL chairman Dene Biddlecombe said.
Rachael Carroll, the general manager destination and marketing for ATEED (the Super City's events arm), said the Nines would drive huge economic benefits for the city and "become an economic anchor over time".
NRL and ARL pairings and club visit times (all Thursday, Feb 13 unless otherwise stated):
Brisbane Broncos-Point Chevalier Pirates; Walker Park, Point Chevalier, 4.30-6.30pm.
Canberra Raiders-Bay Roskill Vikings; Blockhouse Bay Reserve, Blockhouse Bay, 6-8pm.

Sydney Roosters legend Brad Fittler is coming out of retirement to play for the club in next month's Auckland Nines.
The former NSW and Australian skipper confirmed on Thursday he would be dusting off his boots to play in the inaugural pre-season tournament to be held at Eden Park on February 15 and 16.
Fittler's last professional game of footy was the Roosters' loss to the Bulldogs in the 2004 grand final.
He was approached by Roosters powerbrokers late last year, and has been doing some intensive training to be fit for the tournament.
Fittler, 41, is one of the Roosters' favourite sons and led them to the 2002 premiership victory over the Warriors.
He has pulled on the boots twice since retiring: for NSW in a charity match and for the Classic Wallabies in the World Rugby Classic in Bermuda in November 2012.
