Auckland Nines squad

Add to that it was the poorest demonstration of nines footy I have ever witnessed.
it was like the game plan was the 13 a side game plan, but only 9 men on the field.
One out runs for the first three tackles were common and then 2 tackles to create something, with a random kick at the end....
Pityful stuff...

Mr Red shame on you.
How dare you steel Mary's work diary

It's less than a month till the Auckland Nines.

This the Dragons squad from last season:-

1. Josh Dugan (c), 2. Reuban Garrick, 3. Euan Aitken, 4. Tim Lafai, 5. Kurt Mann, 6. Drew Hutchinson, 7. Josh McCrone, 8. Dunamis Lui, 9. Mitch Rein, 11. Jacob Host, 12. Jake Marketo, 13. Jack de Belin, 14. Kiti Glymin, 15. Kalifa Faifai Loa, 16. Matt Dufty, 17. Sebastine Ikahihifo, 18. Jay Gallagher, 19. Tyrone McCarthy.

This year for me I'd like to see:-

1. Matt Dufty, 2. Nene McDonald, 3. Taane Milne, 4. Patrick Herbert, 5. Rueben Garrick, 6. Shaun Nona, 7. Kurt Mann, 8, Tyson Frizzell, 9. Joel Thompson, 10. Luciano Leilus, 11. Paul Vaughan, 12. Cameron McInnes, 13. Tariq Sims, 14: Jacob Host, 15. Jai Field, 16. Reece Robson, 17. Levi Dodd, 18. Chris Lewis

It would be nice to reward Packer with a trip home I'd stick with the above team.

Name the squad you'd like to see this year.

Any reason you left Aitken out? Last year he was our top try scorer and by far our most lethal attacking weapon

I guess it depends on how seriously we treat the nines. I'd say just send the Cutters squad over but they might show up the first grade team and win a game or two. It will probably be the usual mix of young blokes, fringe first graders and a big name or two thrown in (maybe Duges or Friz).

Personally I'd keep our "spine" (whoever that may be) well away from it and send them on a trip for four somewhere they can bond and work out some sort of game plan for 2017, given they probably won't get much direction from the coach.

I'd leave him out as well.
Better for him to have an extra week om the training paddock and have him ready for the trial against the Tigers the following week.
If we are picking the best AKL 9's team Aitken should and would be in it.
If we're selecting a team to send over there based on what's best for the team in the long run, then I agree with you

I left him out as I'd like to see Patrick Herbert, Taane Milne and Levi Dodd get a run. We have a trial the next week and Aitken can get a run then. It's a good opportunity for those other guys to gain experience and get an opportunity.

Not bad, although I don't think we need to send too many of our starting forwards. I would suggest maybe send Matthews and Sele in place of Frizell and Vaughan.

Hopefully our team can actually show promise this year. Just feel as though our lack of basic skills and creativity has been exposed the past couple of years even at this level and has made it harder to watch.

For your dream to come true both of you would have to wake up first because Green will put him away.
Mundine was the last decent 5/8 we had. A true game breaker - whether you like him or not - he had an ability to turn a game on its head and win. A true game breaker and entertainer

Choc was a great player and entertainer back then
Any thought of him playing 9's well or beating Green are pure fantasy
He had his time, called himself an immortal so only a down side from here.
