Aukland 9s vs Indigenous Allstars?

Is anyone else kind of like wtf is this shit with the Aukland 9s?

I always want more footy, but this aukland 9s thing seems completely random and I don't get who thought it up or why, it seems like the good players won't even want to risk it, and the fact it's cancelling out the Indigenous All stars pisses me off, I know a lot of people don't rate it but I for one was starting to really like it and was curious what the indigenous squad was gonna look like.

Which would you have preferred?

While I would watch the indigenous game, I really couldn't care less who wins. Every NRL fan has an interest in the 9's due to their club team, even if it's just to sit and pray their players don't suffer injuries.

Auckland 9's for sure even if it is just an exhibition of players more or less and not league great to see my team colours flying after months of an offseason.

Allstars game has well and truly run its course.

Could not give a stuff about the All Stars game.
Your point about top players not wanting to risk injury playing 9s is a strange one seeing as there are rules that a certain amount of top paid players must play.
And with the enormous prize money on offer I'm sure theyll happily play
As for the All Stars players pull out 'injured' left, right and centre.
In 2015 onwards though they'll both be played.

Would the Nines be better with International teams added or just keep it the way it is?

If its successful next year which is very likely, I do hope they consider that in the future.

i would have been more interested in a pre season NRL touch footy comp instead.

Massively reduced risk of injuries, fast and open, all about developing ball players who appear to be reducing in stock and in quality across the board.

I reckon they are both cool. Footy when there is no footy.

Maybe every 5 years they should play a Indigenous game.. keep the idea fresh and the participants keen.

I'd prefer Indigenous All Stars vs Islander All Stars Friday 3rd October 2014 @ Townsville with 3 million people watching nationally.

I have fond memories of watching the Sevens in my younger days. Looking forward to seeing how Nines go.

My only care about the All-Star game is whether players get hurt. Scrap it!

All-Stars was 'rested' due to the World Cup, not because of the 9's.

Happy with either, but 7's/9's should always have Martin Offiah

I liked the 9s until I investigated going across and found out the tickets are an immense ripoff for decent seats

9s for me but I would merge them and have QLD,NSW and an Indigenous side play against 13 international sides in a World 9s.NRL 9s is just a greedy cash grab by the clubs.

The All Stars concept didn't really interest me, I'd watch it as it's Rugby League after a summer drought with no footy
