As per usual teams that play in the finals and particularly late into the finals usually get a few more players in.

So for mine
1. Slater
2. Hayne
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. Folau
6. Lockyer
7. Thurston
8. Hannant
9. Smith
10. Petero
11. Hindy
12. Watmough
13. O'Donnell
--
14. Gidley
15. Creagh
16. Thaiday
17. Weyman
--
18. Boyd
19. Jennings
20. Prince
21. Ennis
22. Hoffman
23. Taylor
24. Poore

Personally I don't think the side is that hard to pick, except maybe props.
The starting backline is easy, so is cam smith and o'donnell and watmough will be in back row and civa (if fit) and hannant will be props. I think most people think Hindy should get a spot and adds great balance to the pack allowing the other backrowers to attack freely knowing he will work his arse off in defence. This was an issue for nsw during origin, qld had johnson we had no man to do the dirty work. Unless they go for stagg.

Gidley will make it simply for his versatility, he covers so many spots and is great bench man.

Outside back cover, well Boyd is an incumbant and covers all outside back positions. Jennings can cover wing and centre.
Prince will be back up half unless the storm's win gets cronk over the line.
Ennis playing semis should get him the hooking spot over farrah.

Bench and other forwards.
Weyman will be picked, had a great year. Creagh as well. I think Hoffman just put his nose ahead and Thaiday covers prop as well. I think they will pick Taylor as he has been so dynamic.
Then I think its probably between White and Poore for the last spot.

Drak horses for the team: Stagg, Kenny, Myles, Waterhouse, Leoroyd-Lahrs.

ME SO HORNBY!

Incumbent. 17 tries (or so). Played in winning QLD State of Origin.

To be honest he hasn't set the world on fire but he's done enough for sure.

Hindmarsh hoping for Kangaroos call-up

Parramatta veteran Nathan Hindmarsh will await the verdict from Australian selectors before deciding whether to postpone end of season shoulder surgery until after the Four Nations tournament.
Hindmarsh on Sunday revealed he carried a shoulder injury through the Eels' finals campaign, a run which came to a disappointing end for long-suffering Parramatta fans with a 23-16 grand final loss to Melbourne.
The workaholic backrower hardly seemed hindered as he pushed his body through a marathon 64 tackles against the Storm, before admitting he would need to go under the knife to repair the injury.
But whether that is next week or in a two months time could depend on whether Test selectors revive his representative career, which has lay dormant since representing NSW and Australia in 2007.
The Australian squad to play in the Four Nations will be named on Wednesday, with the opening match of the tournament against World Cup winners New Zealand in London on October 24.
"It would be great (to get picked) but we've just got to wait," Hindmarsh said on Monday.
"I'll have to weigh it up.
"We're looking at the moment to see what has to be done (with the shoulder).
"I've got to wait until I get picked (before making a decision)."
Despite being on the outer with representative selectors the last two years, Hindmarsh was considered a leading candidate given the lack of experienced forwards available to Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens.
Hindmarsh however wasn't so sure, saying he believed selectors had showed their hand by not selecting him in a NSW side which has now lost four straight State of Origin series to Queensland.
"I haven't been picked the last two seasons and I've been playing exactly the same football I have, I don't see why they would pick me," Hindmarsh said.
Hindmarsh will still have plenty on his plate even if snubbed by Australian selectors with the 30-year-old due to marry long-time partner Bonnie Scott in December.

Looks like farah is going to be the back up hooker to Cam Smith. Woohoo Excellant News.

STORM skipper Cameron Smith and coach Craig Bellamy have called on Kangaroos selectors to reward Melbourne No. 7 Cooper Cronk with selection in the Four Nations squad named tomorrow.

Cronk was unlucky to not collect the Clive Churchill Medal ahead of Billy Slater in the Storm's 23-16 win over Parramatta after a dominant display, and his teammates believe Cronk's wide-ranging talent would make him a perfect addition to the squad.
Though both acknowledged Johnathan Thurston would be the first-choice halfback, Smith and Bellamy said Cronk could fill the role of bench utility.
"Coops is a very good player and could easily play State of Origin, and has played a Test for Australia before and did well," Smith said. "He can play both halves positions, he can play hooker and you could even throw him out wider. It would be a great reward for a guy who works really hard on his game."
Bellamy said Cronk had been frustrated to be stuck behind Thurston and Scott Prince as a third-choice Queensland No. 7 but he deserved consideration.

"Without a doubt. I think he would be an ideal guy to go on tour with them," Bellamy said. "When he started playing with us he was basically a specialist bench player. He played five-eighth and hooker as well."
Despite strong claims, it appears as if Cronk's wait for further representative honours will continue. Test selectors - who picked the Churchill medallist - are likely to take Thurston and Prince and have Robbie Farah as Smith's back-up in a 23 or 24-man squad.
Cronk wasn't getting his hopes up yesterday. "I am very much a realist. There are some very good footballers in this competition."

I think they are picking 24 players so Here's my team:

1. Billy Slater (Fullback)
2. Hayne (wing/fullback)
3. Greg Inglis (centre/wing/fullback)
4. Justin Hodges (centre)
5. Israel Folau (wing/centre)
6. Darren Lockyer (5/8)
7. Johnathan Thurston (half, 5/8)
8. Petero Civoniceiva (prop)
9. Cameron Smith (hooker)
10. Ben Hannant (Prop)
11. Nathan Hindmarsh (2nd row)
12. Anthony Watmough (2nd row, lock)
13. Luke O'Donnell (2nd row, lock)
14. Sam Thaiday (2nd row, prop)
15. Brett White (Prop)
16. Ben Creagh (2nd row, lock)
17. David Stagg (utility, back row)
18. Kurt Gidley (utility, back up hooker)
19. Scott Prince (back up half, 5/8)
20. Darius Boyd (fullback/wing) - happy if they went with one of the Morris also.
21. Matthew Scott (prop, 2nd row)
22. Luke Bailey, Michael Weyman or Justin Poore - one of these has to go but I can't split them
23. Ashley Harrison (2nd row, lock, utility)
24. Dave Taylor (prop, 2nd row, centre) - one for the future but would be happy enought osee one of Bailey, Weyman or Poor take his spot.

Really struggled with the props. I like Bailey, Weyman & Poore but they've also come up short in a few big matches this year at different times. Didn't really want Gidley there but I think he covers a lot of spots and the NSW contingent will push for him.

Is no way would have Hodges in my team. He is a liability and frankly not that good anymore.

Slater, B Morris, Folau, Inglis, Hayne, Lockyer (although the man should retire soon) and Thurston would be my backline.
