Aussie Whimps

This is a real f**king let down. I used to think the Aussies were a pretty tough bunch, now there just pretty.

Perhaps the Kangaroos should be renamed the Emus. Afterall, they can't fly either can they.

It is a let down, but to class all Aussies as whimps would be going a bit too far. I have felt for the past couple of days that the Australian media are obviously feeding their public a load of crap which results in an ignorance of what the real situation is.

I am somewhat confused about these big tough blokes caving in so easily, when the supposed twinkies who play soccer are flying across Europe for champions league matches.

Apparently it was the players who didn't want to tour. I can understand their reluctance, afterall, it's only a game, but I really thought they would do the right thing by the game in the end. Perhaps they still will, we can only hope that sence prevails.
If terrorists are going to target a sporting event in the near future it won't be Rugby League in the North of England, it will be the World Cup in Japan.
If they do change their minds the tour will get a lot of publicity out of this.
I want them to tour, but I can't call on anyone to take any risks they are not comfortable with for the sake of a game.

Roopy, it seems the RFL are still hopefull of persuading the ARL to reverse this very regrettable decision. Otherwise it's curtains for international RL, and quite possibly the begining of the end for the game as a whole. How will it look if the Wannabe's decide to tour?

You're right about Rugby League not being much of a target. Manchester United took a greater risk when they played in Athens tonight.

I can't believe that SOME Aussie fans feel the ARLmade the right decision, it's probably the worst decision in the history of the game.

Guys, I think the guys should tour. I think they are being ruled by the skirt and if you did'nt know, most of the younger players like Jamie Lyon, Braith Anasta, Jason Ryles and Mark Gasnier all wanted to tour. All the older blokes were the ones who decided to give it a miss and the majority of the ARL board wanted the tour to go ahead. I am very dissappointed with the decision to say the least.

I hope they overturn the decision. I think the players probably need some extra security. The players are behind this unfortunately, and its no point only taking half the team and going through the painful process of finding out who would be willing to take the place of the drop outs. Maybe they can strike a compromise and only go on a short tour for three test matches in two weeks.

Let the likes of Fittler and Johns stay at home but for the sake of our game the ARL must go ahead with the tour, even if it means a shortened one. The younger blokes like Ryles, Anasta, Drew and Gasnier would make great replacements for those whimps who would rather stay at home.

Half the players want to go and I reckon another quarter would go if the tour was on. Thos who wont go should be branded as Cowards. A disgrace to the game.
