What are your thoughts on this, now that Lockyer is out for the season...??

Somebody mentioned in All Gold thread that it might still be a all QLD Halves combo with Thurston moving to 5/8 and Prince gets the 7 jumper...

What about Greg Bird? He's had a taste of Origin. Would he be ready to stepup and wear the Kangaroo Jersey..??

The Centenary Test requires one Australian player to jon the New Zealand All Golds. No other Australians are required. The Kangaroo Test against New Zealand is another matter of course. Prince and Thurston sound like a great combo for that.

Lol...Too early in the morning... Thanks mate, I didn't read my post very well...

Yeh, it was the October Test between Australia and NZ I was referring to, but I am sure that is the Centenary Test....

I have also heard the NZ v Aust Test being referred to as the "Centenary Test" by NZ media, though I haven't heard anyone explain what the "centenary" is - the first international Test wasn't played until early 1908 (NZ v England), but it was during the 1907/08 All Golds tour, which started in England & Wales in October 1907. I think that is the logic they are using.

There will of course be a "Centenary Test" between NZ & Aust at the SCG on Fri May 9 next year - the two teams first met on Sat May 9, 1908.

They wont pick Barrett because he plays overseas.

They should put Thurston at no.6 and let the likes of Cronk and Prince fight it out for no.7

Heard on the 'Big Sports Breakfast' radio show this morning Barrett has put his hand up for Australia. Gasnier returning from injury as well.

Good.

And the ARL should consider him...

He's still playing the game. It's immature and petulant not to consider him... :x :x
