Yep on May 21 at Aussie Stadium and then three days later Australia will play two friendlies against Turkey in Australia.

This is good news for Australia on four counts a) They are WC semi-finalists and came third b) The matches are in Australia c) Australia should be at full strength with all Euro comps have finished by then and d) Turkey are ranked 7th or 9th.

Unfortunately that doesn't guarantee a full-strength Australian side because the off-season is the time when players go for their surgery or go on holidays with their wives & kids. I don't think the European based players will be thrilled to be playing another Friendly in what is essentially their down-time...

We'll see...

We've got the South Africa match to look forward to first, anyway.

Cheers,
Ben S.

It's at the SFS, should be a good test if both teams can be arsed playing. Turkey won't really feel up for it after watching Latvia play at Euro 2004

Why not?

He probably comes out here every year on his holiday's, so they can convince him that he travels this far for a holiday, so why not try and get him to play for his country.

And Turkey are no micky mouse side. In the top 10...

F*ck Kewell.

THe guy simply doesnt want to play for his country. The ASA needs to stand up and p!ss him off if he doesnt play in these matches.

We can win without him - if we get a unified team together and PLAY these type of matches. This isnt a 'mickey mouse' friendly - it is a game against the team who finished 4th in the WC. If this isnt important for our preparation then nothing will ever be.
