Australian Idol is the work of the devil

seriously its unmitigated sh!t. Why do the winners of this Kareoke contest insist on calling themselves artists? doesn't the term artist inherently mean they would need to be creating something original??? They ball their eyes out because they have got it so hard during their whole 12 odd weeks of making it to the top. The first test should be they must be able to play an instrument and they must sing their own songs that they wrote themselves. Even then they would only just be passing the limits of slightly bearable manufactured crap. Idol is officially the epitomy of what is wrong with the entire music world today.

EXACTLY. satanic music isnt black metal, its parentally-endorsed, church-sanctioned and commercially-sanctioned and it infiltrates and takes over the lives of teeny-boppers and they become slaves to a system created by record executives.

I don't necessarily like the process... but it's hard to deny that some of the competitors have fine voices. That's how I justify my watching of it anyway.

Yeah, you cannot deny the talent of the contestants.....and hell, how many artists make money off singing songs other people have written for them?

Not many. Unless they wrote some of their own material, they'll see most of the cash from gigging.

The Idol concept was actually the brainchild of English music industry whiz Simon Fuller - the man who engineered the Spice Girls phenomenon. Therefore, he is a Holy man - like a Bishop or Cardinal - and has no links whatsoever to the Devil. He renounces the devil, I've heard.

Hahaha no Twiz, I am wearing the Spice Avatar* by choice. VH1 had a Behind The Music special on the Spice Girls the other night and it awoke my inner Spice, which had been latent for a few years.

Not that I watched it but I think Popstars Live took it to a new low....Kane Taylor was the pre-match entertainment at the Storm and Panthers @ OP earlier this year and he was terrible....I had to leave the grandstand till he was finished.

And honestly, the last people I'd want telling me I have no talented are washed up songwriters like Tanya Doko and John Paul Young and psuedo industry insiders like Molly Meldrum!

Thank god for Dicko. Getting to see him tell one contestant that she came across like a pissed-up secretary at the office Xmas party and another that her outfit made her look like Pauline Hanson done up fo a night at the bingo was worth it.

bahaha i know, i love dicko! look it doesnt matter how someone was discovered - if they have a great voice, they have a great voice. its POP for godsakes. i dont think anyone is claiming to be creating a musical masterpiece. popstars dont usually write their own songs or create their own images....i dont see how idol is any different.

plus it gave shannon noll a massive chance he would have never otherwise have had. and i love shannon! hes such a daggy bogan who does bad cheesy rock moves...lol :D

i think this proves my point. There used to be talented pop artists. These days we are just supposed to accept the death of a complete genre to apathetic trend dictators as a given? To quote Almost Famous, its become an industry of "cool"
