O'Mealy was only cleaned up in one of the hit-ups he made, credit to the NZ A defense. In the rest of the hit ups he made, he was always making metres and bumping off defenders, Mason however kept trying to force passes everytime he got grabbed.

O'Meley was missing.

There was a fair few Australian fans around us saying exactly the same thing.

He was very much overshadowed in the propping department by Paleaaesina - there was someone who was bumping off defenders. The entire NZ "A" pack was standing in Mason and O'Meley's tackles and popping offloads that led to long breaks - particularly Awen Guttenbeil.

I've seen Mark O'Meley play far better than that. That was ordinary at best.

Matai got a run late on, didn't really do much.

Kylie Leuluai was solid enough, without being spectacular. Was willing enough. His cousin? Phil Leuluai made a bigger impact for mine.

Hohaia's leg isn't broken, he could be fit yet. He's the best option, he always plays well at half, just horrible at five-eighth, go figure.

It came off the back of a top Paleaaesina charge, another one from Awen Guttenbeil he then got away an offload to Billy Ngawini who went 25 metres downfield. From there, Smith and Motu Tony worked it to the left, George Carmont drew the winger in leaving Covell with a 3 metre untouched run to the line.

That was after about 5 minutes. Neck and neck :lol: What do you expect? 26-0 in five minutes the norm is it??

Covell played solidly but was well behind Awen Guttenbeil, Iafeta Paleaaesina, Billy Ngawini, George Carmont, Tame Tupou, Phillip Leuluai, Jeremy Smith and Motu Tony on the night. But whatever shakes your boat.

100% correct, people are far too willing to put O'Meley into the Aust line up but he was man handled by NZ A
